Hey Google, no stars should be an option. Came to visit step son who just moved here. We wanted to get something to eat before heading back to Columbus & his son recommended this place. My husband & I were seated by a hostess as soon as we walked in & then sat at our table for 10 minutes without ONE person acknowledging us, except for one server who was taking care of the rest of the booths in our row that walked past our booth smirking, several times. There was more staff than customers. We flagged down a manager Janet and while she was standing at our table talking to us, there was a group of approximately 8-10 servers, hostesses & bar staff, all female, staring over the bar ledge into the dining room directly at us giggling. I smiled, waved back a couple of times & let Janet know they probably shouldn't be doing that. Janet was nice, said all of the right things, but it really didn't matter to me at that point. I took a few sips of water, ate half of a piece of my quesadilla & was ready to go. Unlike other people (ahem), because of my background & how I've been prejudged, I.not quick to judge or treat people differently unless they give me a reason to do so, and this is only the 3rd or 4th situation in my 50+ years that I've come to this conclusion based on the blatant disrespect they WEREN'T attempting to hide. After perusing our surroundings & the customers in the restaurant, I observed Iwas the only one who looked different & I'm certain it wasn't my nose ring or hairdo. I wasn't caucasion or apparently not caucasion-looking enough like the other paying customers to deserve the same service they were happily giving to the other tables all around us. They apparently don't like the color green 💰 either. I hated that my husband, who is caucasion & retired from the Army after 25 years, so these "little girls" could live the wonderful & safe lives that they are able live thanks to veterans like him, couldn't force themselves to care enough about his or most likely any other veterans' service by at least giving HIM the service & respect that he has earned & deserves. Probably doesn't matter to them anyway. So glad to have been born in a diverse family & city & raised to respect other human beings Never recommending...
Read moreWe typically eat here weekly and usually have a great experience ( there's been a couple minor things but nothing serious). Our last visit was horrible!! Our server didn't check on us, bring us refills, we were pressured to buy things we didnt want, over charged us, etc. The server seemed to distracted with a contest/game they were apparently playing. Something involving getting customers to buy certain items (type of alcoholic beverage, specific meal, etc) I'm guessing for a bonus of some kind. Which I don't see any problem with doing in general but shouldn't be something customers are aware of and feel pressured. Especially alcohol.
Our food was pretty good like usual but they messed up our check or overcharged us. We were using digital gift cards we had just purchased a couple days before. They didnt even have a proper method for using so the server had to take our phone to type card number into system. She told us our bill was paid but that we couldn't use gift card to tip so we asked her if she could just charge us for a lemon or something and add the tip to that and use our debit card. The manager said that was fine and would charge us 25cents for lemon and we added tip. But when she returned she claimed we owed 11$ on our check still plus the tip. We still cant figure out what happened but we were definitely overcharged. We were sitting at the high tops I think they're called next to the bar. And there was a drunk lady between our tables talking to the table next to us for 1/2 our visit. We were obviously uncomfortable and even mentioned to the manager when we had the big issue with our check.
It's just very disappointing and really ruined our desire to return. It's something we did nearly every weekend but with how horrible our last visit was I doubt we will be returning. Something needs updated with the digital gift cards and don't allow employees to pressure customers into purchasing things they don't want,...
Read moreI went to Butterbee's in mt orab, I ordered the pulled pork dinner which in the past was always delicious. I got my carryout order home and sat down to my meal but as soon as I opened it I knew something was different. The pulled pork has a lot of fat and the sauce was not nearly as good as before. The salad was average, a bowl of lettuce with two rings of onion and a couple croutons but it was fresh, the broccoli was good. I called and spoke to a manager she expressed her concern and offered another meal which I declined, I only wanted my money back. She understood and again said she was sorry and that my refund would be waiting for me, so I returned the meal and received my refund. I was disappointed in the meal but I must say they handled it in a friendly and professional manner. When I returned the meal there were no rude looks or sharp remarks. Based on how they handled the situation I will definitely go back! Normally the food here is really good and service is friendly. Everyone deserves a second chance, and anyone who's prepared a lot of meals knows sometimes it just happens. How many families would still get together at Thanksgiving if we couldn't forgive some soggy mashed potatoes or a little overly...
