Iggy’s Pizza Shop — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

This is one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a long time! However, it was the Customer service that was over the topl! The scenario is, we are from out of town, but have family in the area. They were not with us when we were leaving a show downtown Charleston, so they could not speak to the traffic that we had no idea we would encounter. We hopped in our car and decided to buy pizza for the kids and the GPS told us it would be about 15 minutes. Knowing that they were closing in about 45 minutes, we felt that we had plenty of time. Imagine our embarrassment when we pulled out of our space and was stuck in the parking garage for an endless amount of time. We called and said we were still coming, as we knew they had probably already made our pizza. We were so embarrassed that we did not get there till after they closed, yet they stayed open for us, and I know they really wanted to get out of there (Don’t blame them). They were so kind we gave them an extra $10 just for staying open for us. When we got back with the family to eat, the pizza was so yummy! The garlic knots everything-perfect! Was just out of this world! If you want extra garlic, or garlic knots, clearly, you are a garlic lover as we are! They didn’t skimp on the garlic! I took the family here for dinner on a Friday night. There was a good crowd already but things moved along quickly and we had a nice time. It's in a strip mall next to a Harriss Teeter (pro tip: you can use the HT wifi for free.)

First off, you order before you grab a table as they won't give you a number until you have placed an order. While this seemed off putting at first it worked out just fine and makes sense. We got a seat at a table less than 2 minutes after we ordered at the counter.

The menu is pretty compact; they have standard pizzas in two sizes or you can make your own. We ordered a cheese for the kids and a Greek for the adults. There are also starters and sides available.

The pizza is thin crust and the crust is very crisp. The sauce is sweet and thin, and doesn't have any big chunks. It's very distinctive. The large is 16" and the small 10" I believe and we ordered two larges and ended up taking half a pie home between the four of us. Overall the pizza was good. Maybe the crust was a bit too crisp for me but everyone has their preferences.

They have a cooler full of beers and non alcoholic drinks, wine and fountain sodas available.

Really delicious pizza.

Atrocious customer service. I called to place a pick-up order. First, I was hung up on. Then I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. I had to shout my order to be heard. When I asked if I could pick up at a specific time, I was told they can only do this for orders of 8 or more pizzas. I asked to speak to a manager to have the rationale for this explained to me. At first, they tried to tell me the manager was too busy. I got the impression they wanted me to shut up or hang up. I waited it out. The manager refused to budge on the order ahead policy and recommended I call back and place my order again. I explained how poorly I had been treated so far and my reluctance to call back and waste more time on the phone. I asked if they could wait and put my order in and they said they would not be able to remember it. I asked if they had pen and paper to write my order down and they said no. At that point I gave up.

I’ve never been treated so rudely. I worked in restaurants for nearly a decade and we never would have been so unwilling to accommodate, so rude, so negative. Truly a dismal attitude. I wouldn’t have tried again but we needed a vegan pizza option.
