We were visiting the area and several friends recommended that we go to Toast for brunch so expectations were pretty high! Boy , was it a disappointment ! My wife ordered the Corned Beef Hash with two poached eggs, grits, toast and a Bloody Mary. I ordered the Peach “STUFFED “French Toast and Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. The restaurant wasn’t very busy and our hosts seated us immediately, the front of the house staff was gathered in the rear section and were welcoming. Our server was very nice and attentive and recommended the dishes we eventually ordered . Our order came and almost every item we ordered was uneventful: 1.) the Corned Beef Hash and eggs consisted of chopped brisket which was very crispy ( like bacon)and VERY salty, 2.) the Peach STUFFED French Toast had 4 slices of canned peaches in syrup on a 4” block of battered toast, 3.) the Fried Green Tomatoes were fine with the pimento cheese and balsamic vinegar , 4.) and the Bloody Mary would have been perfect if I was planning on getting blitzed for brunch! The okra and 3 olive garnish was nice and the presentation was appreciated, we just would like more of the Bloody Mary mix and not a pint of vodka. $12 for this specific drink would have been a bargain if we were at a college dive bar! The total bill for this adventure, including the tip was $89.03. We didn’t mind paying more to eat at a nice place, in a nice , safe , high-traffic centralized location. We understand that you have overhead. Your service is great, your products just need to at least look and taste like you give a s$&t! There are countless other dining options available in the area and the output has to be significantly better than an overpriced Waffle House.

Okay, when we arrived for brunch, we were told there would be a 20-minute wait. Cool! We were seated sooner but not served until 15 minutes later. Our waitress was nice but not very attentive. We ordered drinks and was ready to order when they came back. We ordered the beignets as w starter and our meals. I ordered the sweet tea fried chicken with seasonal veg and cheese grits. My spouse ordered stuffed French toast with country ham and home fries. His French toast was burnt, and my chicken was not good. Lol. It didn't taste good to me. The veggies were not seasoned but could be great with some flavor. I liked them after adding S&P. French toast was sent back and was better the second round but not the best. Another waiter walked over and asked if we were enjoying the food, and we told him we were not. He suggested we try the chicken and waffles instead. We did, and although better than our first meals, still lacked flavor! Lol. He definitely made the experience better because he refilled our drinks and checked on us. Something the waitress forgot to do. Lol. She came back once. Our bill was comp 20% for the mishaps, and the guy apologized. Slender black guy with locs.

We stopped at the Mt. Pleasant location on our way to Sullivan's Island for a brisk morning walk thinking a hot breakfast was a good idea on a cold morning. We tend to steer clear of chains on vacation, but this is one we don't have in Texas and, based on reviews, wanted to try. The lattes were yummy. The service was warm and welcoming. Mister loved his corned beef and hash with eggs, but his side of sausage gravy was forgotten. We didn't fuss. I got the chicken friend chicken biscuit, which comes with a side of chicken gravy. The gravy was like liquid salt with a touch of chicken flavor. I would suggest getting it with sausage gravy instead. I also got the fresh fruit bowl. The blueberries, strawberries, and honeydew were perfect. The cantaloupe was off, so I didn't eat it. Not the best breakfast we had on the trip, but not bad either. Definitely family friendly, on the wallet and in the atmosphere.

I understand all f&b is struggling with staffing. This facility was beyond that. I am able to look past a lot of stuff. We were in town for a doctors appointment, and stopped by for breakfast. We checked in with the host they said “15 minute wait” so we signed up for their text alerts and waited. We watched as many family’s went in that got their after us. So we checked where we were on the wait list to make sure the app didn’t fault us out. The hostess admitted to sitting people prior to us because they came in and said they had been waiting for 30 minutes, all while we had been their for 44 minutes checked in like a normal person. We were taken back to a dirty table, which is okay. It takes no effort, the young lady who sat us cleaned it without us asking. We had someone else come to our table and brought us water, then we didn’t see anyone for a while. Waiters and waitress were sitting down at the booth next to us wrapping silverware chatting up a storm have a good ol personal powwow. We finally find our waitress she apologized for the confusion she thought another waiter took our table that was in her section. She was kind and took our order. Again while tables sat dirty more wait staff sat at the silverware wrapping station like they were on a 5 minute break playing on their phones. Tons of food sitting at the kitchen ready to go out, but not moving. Our food came out it was subpar which was a shock considering the amount of people waiting to get in when we got there. Kids sized omelette the same size as a regular size, potatoes cold, biscuits doughy. The best part of my meal was my latte. We never saw our waitress again until it was time...

My husband and I decided to stop in for brunch, upon arriving we were told there would be a 30 minute wait which wasn’t a problem. As opposed to waiting inside we waited in our car and received a text and headed into the restaurant to get our table. Upon returning I notified the guy that I received a message and told him my name he said it has been 10 minutes and we were removed from the list since it had been 10 minutes I said no I just got a call 2 minutes ago and showed him the call and the text messages was literally 5 minutes ago. He then said yes ma’am we removed you after 5 minutes and rolled his eyes. I said but you just after 10 minutes which it hasn’t even been that. I learned that his name was Alex he then proceeded to cut me off and say well either way we removed you. He then proceeds to say you can wait another 30 minutes. The actual host returned at this point and was very polite and said your table is ready ma’am I just called you. I said well thank you for actually being nice he interrupts again and says “I don’t care” as we are walking away to be seated.

Fortunately after being seating our server Pamela was very nice and made sure that we were taken care of. The food was pretty good! However I was pretty disappointed in the lack of...
