JoJack's Smokehouse — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

Was there on 5/26/22, My husband and I got the loaded potatoes with brisket meat. The meat was so peppery and salty it was inedible, potatoes where under cooked. I was getting some sour cream and sauce while in line and was told very rudely, that toppings are at station. Mind you we where the only customers in there at that time. Mac & cheese was cold and baked beans where definitely not made by the older lady from 1st visit. My son had a pulled pork sandwich and said it was good, not as good as the 1st time but edible.

I did inform the staff we where unhappy with food. They looked at me like I had 3 heads. We, my husband and I threw are food away. $52.00 plus spent and had to get food elsewhere.

The people are very nice. That being said, I wish I could say more for the food. Going through town, JoJack's was recommended as having really good BBQ. Unfortunately, that is not what I found. It was around 3:30/4:00. All the sides looked as if they had been left sitting out over night. Dried out on top. The ribs might have been pretty good except that they had cooked so long, they couldn't even cut them. They kept coming off the bone. I don't know what to say about the hot links. They were about the size of my thumb and cooked so long they were black. The inside was mushy. The brisket might have been good except it was ice cold. I don't know if I will make it back to My Pleasant again. If I do, I definitely won't be...

Absolutely the worst bbq I have ever eaten. Was hungry so I ate it but never again. I can't believe Texas would let this place be called bbq. I had the burnt ends, brussel sprouts and potato salad. Luckily the potato salad was OK. Got 1/4 lb of ends (2 small pieces of meat) (plus the side are $2.50 each after the meat price) that were more like desert than an entree. I not a fan of buffets and didn't realize this was one until after I had ordered the meat. Should have stopped at that point but as I said I was hungry. My husband got the brisket chili and it was so geasy he couldn't eat it. After waiting on ourselves, they have a tip jar at the cash register. Not happening if I have to do all the work myself!...
