I had a really disappointing and uncomfortable experience at Muddy’s in Charleston. I came with my service dog, who is trained and essential to my health. I even showed two forms of verification to the woman at the front (an older lady with a Dixie pixie cut), and still, we were denied entry.
I get that some people fake having service animals — I really do. But what about those of us who rely on them for legitimate medical reasons? What hurt most is how she kept pressing me and questioning my need for him to the point that my service dog actually jumped up to intervene — as he’s trained to do when I’m being harassed or distressed.
I left feeling judged, uncomfortable, and humiliated. This situation could have been handled with more compassion and basic knowledge of ADA protections. I hope the staff gets proper training moving forward, this shouldn’t happen to anyone else. Other than that everything else was amazing we enjoyed the...
Read morea coworker, and I went here figuring there is going to be some amazing seafood, but we were unfortunately disappointed. The shrimp tasted frozen. My pasta was overcooked and mushy, and my old fashion was sweet and fruity. Now, the waitress said it was her fault, but the bartenders are told to muddle the fruit, which is not what you do in an old-fashioned. The bartender made me another one, and it was on point because he made it the correct way and the way he was taught, not the way the establishment wants him to. My coworkers jumbila was mushy the Okra wasn't cooked and it was just terrible for a 27 dollar plate. Needless to say, the bartenders were the saving grace. The manager was a bit argumentative and kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain why I didn't want the dish we won't be coming back here to eat but...
Read moreImpeccable customer service, our server Skylar will make you feel at home, extremely professional individual showing that she really cares about customer's needs, employees like her, will keep customers coming back.Great location and good food. I did not give them 5 stars, due to the menu not showing when a meal is spicy. My son and my wife, both left the plates intact. Management was kind enough to deduct my son's plate from the bill, that was highly appreciated. I would also suggest you place on the outside area some bug zapper lamps to keep away the flies, so you don't have to be fighting with them the whole meal. When you pay over 22 dollars for a medium size pasta dish, it is very annoying to spend your family dinner, wrestling insects standing on your drinks straw or tasting your food....
