What a delightful discovery! Vickery's on Shem Creek is a slice of Lowcountry heaven that effortlessly combines mouthwatering cuisine with breathtaking views. As soon as I arrived, I was captivated by the charming waterside setting, with sailboats gently bobbing and the sun dipping lazily toward the horizon.
The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a friendly hostess who seated me on the patio, giving me an unobstructed view of the creek. The buzzing atmosphere was filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses, creating an inviting ambiance.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I started with the oyster busk , and it was simply divine! Creamy, rich, and loaded with tender meat, this dish warmed my soul and set the bar high for the rest of the meal. For the main course, I ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi, which was perfectly seared with a blend of spices that instantaneously transported me to a culinary paradise. It was served atop a bed of mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables that added a delightful crunch. The flavors married beautifully, allowing me to savor the essence of the South.
Of course, no meal is complete without dessert, and the key lime pie here is an absolute must! It was the perfect balance of tart and sweet, with a graham cracker crust that crumbled delicately with each forkful. A scoop of homemade whipped cream on top was the cherry on the cake, or in this case, the pie!
What truly set Vickery's apart was the exceptional service. Our server Chrissy was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, making fantastic recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable evening.
As twilight descended, the creek lit up with twinkling lights, and I realized that Vickery's isn’t just a dining spot—it’s a complete experience. The blend of fabulous food, incredible service, and stunning views made this visit unforgettable. I can't wait to return to this charming waterfront gem...
Read moreI say this with a heavy heart because I have been coming to Vickerys for a very very long time and I am afraid an old friend died tonight. First thing my wife is disabled and has a very hard time walking. The elevator was not only broken after taking a closer look I seen it was not broke but gone so we had to climb stairs. She struggled with it cause she knew how much I loved the place. We look over menu and like most places the cost have gone up a lot, which I was prepared to overlook since everyone has gone up. But when we got our food I had to do something that I have very very rarely done and send back my dish. The scallops and shrimp didn't taste fresh odd since we were on shrimp boat lane. So I ask for a Cuban with fries how can that be bad well you bring old fries and use ham that tasted like lunch meat. I fear that they may be relying on the fact that they are sitting on one of the most beautiful places in Charleston. This really was my favorite restaurant I came here every time I came down so I am very sad about this. Like an old friend has died. I leave this review in hopes that you'll fix the issues. The big one is no handicapped access I would think that is a HUGE one. Isn't that like a law or something. Don't guess it matters at this point. The cost is not a issue if quality stays high but not when it's this bad. I hope you fix the issues and not just relying on tourist who don't know how you use to be. That might keep you in business but you won't be great like you use to be. Now I am emotional after reading this back this sucks 😢 Just noticed that they don't respond to reviews good or bad. So I guess they won't even see this. So to anyone who struggles with Mobility don't bother you won't even be able to get in. Shame really was a...
Read moreI need to share my experience because I ended up with food poisoning, and I believe others should be aware. I ordered the pesto salmon and specifically asked the waitress if the fish would be well done. She confirmed it would be.
When my food arrived, something tasted off, and the texture didn’t seem right. Since it was dark outside, I used my phone’s flashlight and saw that the salmon was completely undercooked. I immediately brought it to the waitress’s attention. She apologized and said she would bring me a new plate in 10–15 minutes. She also mentioned that the salmon wasn’t supposed to be raw and admitted the new chef didn’t know how to prepare it properly but had now been taught (shouldn’t proper training happen before serving food to customers?).
What’s even more concerning is that this salmon was almost certainly not the grade required to be safely consumed raw. As many know, not all salmon is safe to eat uncooked due to risks like parasites. This made the situation even more unacceptable.
I was frustrated, especially because I had specifically asked for the fish to be cooked. The waitress could have easily noted my request and ensured the kitchen prepared it correctly. On top of that, the replacement took even longer, and by the time I got my food, my friend had already finished eating. While the waitress apologized again, I was still charged the full price for the meal.
Unfortunately, less than two hours later, I started experiencing severe stomach issues, which have lasted for the past three days. This experience was unacceptable, from the undercooked food to the lack of care and responsibility in handling...
