My neighbor and friend told me about this place and I was so excited to try it out! She said the place was not fancy but served good food. It was a Thursday evening and walked in with my two boys 8 and 6, well behaved and experienced in fine dining...The waitress that was also hosting and seating guests did not approach us instead sent over a gentleman who seemed to be a manager or owner. He came up to us and the first thing he said was, do your kids eat everything? I responded by saying, my kids are world class eaters and have a very sophisticated palette. We sat down, the two darlings put the linen on their little laps as I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir ($20), escargots ($14), bread service, bib salad with pomegranates ($20), steamed mussels with Roquefort Cheese ($32) and Steak Frites ($46). My children ate everything except for the mussels, it had quite a funk as they tried to hide the fact they were not fresh, definitely more closed shells than open. I should have sent it back. When I got home I was still baffled how he had the audacity to approach us like the way he did. I have never experienced anything like that in 48 years. I really believe if my husband was with us that evening it would be a totally different story. I am a Korean-American Chef, local here in Mount Pleasant and never felt so insulted! They probably thought we were tourists not fimiliar with French Cuisine? Even then, you should feel lucky and honored that you have new guests wanting to try your restaurant. I hope the owner reads this and learns to welcome anyone that walks in your establishment. As for me we will not be returning and will not recommend this place. For a very expensive $$$ menu the service and atmosphere did not match. As for the evening, it was a fun date-night out with my boys with good conversation! Always be kind and never judge anyone- this is a...

Advertising closing at 10 o’clock on a Saturday night, just to find out after arrival that they are closing the kitchen down at 8:30 tonight because “it’s slow AND because of the holiday”
The holiday? Do you mean the July 4th holiday on TUESDAY? Today is Saturday…
Any business that closes its doors early because they are slow, might as well go out of business right now! They are not going to survive. Nobody’s wants to flip a coin and take a chance of going there not knowing whether they are busy or slow and could close early!
What kind of a business owner makes such an utterly absurd decision like that? Because we were barely there with enough time to read the menu, much less make a decision, I decided not to make any decisions and left.
I went there to sit down and relax and enjoy, not to be rushed in and then pushed out the door because of a holiday THREE days away.
The gentleman made it crystal clear that they would be closing the kitchen at 8:30 no exceptions, when asked what if I wanted to add something after placing my order?
This all for a first time customer? WOW! Well, I would say first time and LAST, but because we left and did not bother, they did not even get a first! Look forward to seeing their out of...
Read moreVille St. Bistro is a casual upscale French restaurant that hits all the right notes. Refined without being stuffy, relaxed yet elevated. From start to finish, the service was top tier—warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable, especially when describing the evening's off menu specials.
I began with the shrimp Provençale appetizer, which was light, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. Then came the French onion soup—without exaggeration, the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. The broth was rich and velvety, the onions deeply caramelized, and the cheese topping was perfectly melted over a toasted slice of bread. Absolutely incredible.
The French bread, served warm, had a perfect crust and airy interior, ideal for dipping or enjoying on its own.
For the main course, I had the lamb chops with a balsamic reduction sauce, and they were excellent. Tender, juicy, and perfectly balanced with the sweet tang of the reduction. Paired with a glass of Bordeaux wine, it was a flawless combination.
They also featured enticing off menu specials like a refreshing watermelon salad, a buttery lobster roll, a thick juicy pork chop, and flavorful baked oysters.
Ville St. Bistro is a standout in Mt. Pleasant and a must visit for anyone who appreciates top quality French cuisine, excellent wine, and genuine hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning and...
