Hachiya Ramen brings a true taste of Japan to Mount Pleasant—and it’s absolutely unmatched.
From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family by the warm and kind owners, who moved here from Japan and brought with them not only incredible recipes, but the heart and soul of their culture. Their hospitality and genuine care for each customer make every visit feel special.
I’ve tried almost everything on the menu—the Tonkotsu Ramen with its rich, silky pork broth and tender chashu, the Vegetable Ramen with that light, yuzu-infused broth, and the perfectly spicy Tonkotsu Tantamen. I always add an extra soft-boiled egg (highly recommend). Every bite and sip is bursting with flavor—it’s like comfort in a bowl.
The sides are just as fantastic. The Karaage is juicy, crispy, and marinated in soy, garlic, and ginger. The Gyoza is pan-fried and steamed, filled with savory pork and cabbage, and served with the perfect dipping sauce. Everything is fresh, authentic, and deeply satisfying.
This place holds an extra special meaning for my family. My uncle used to travel to Japan regularly, and he says Hachiya is the only place in the entire South that truly reminds him of his favorite towns in Japan—not just the food, but the atmosphere, the care, the warmth.
Hachiya Ramen is a gem. The kindness they share and the flavors they serve are truly incomparable.
Thank you, Hachiya, for bringing the heart of Japan to the Lowcountry. 🍜🇯🇵❤️

If you're searching for an unforgettable dining experience in the Charleston area, look no further than Hachiya Ramen. After driving two hours every week for the past few months, I can confidently say that this gem is worth every mile. From the moment we walk in, we are treated like VIPs, and that level of hospitality is just the beginning.
The food here is nothing short of phenomenal—each bowl of ramen is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and crafted to perfection. The speed at which our meals are served is impressive, yet every dish retains its quality and taste. I often find myself wishing I could give this place 20 stars, simply because the food is that good!
A special highlight of our visits has been the exemplary customer service provided by Manami and Richard. They go above and beyond to make us feel special, remembering not just our previous orders, but also our family details and the little things that make us feel valued as regulars. It’s this personal touch that sets Hachiya apart from any other restaurant we've visited.

Read moreBest dining experience I've had in a good while. In town doing construction and got wrapped early so I used my free time to see a buddy that lives this way. My buddy wanted to try onigiri and I hadn't eaten at all that day so his wife, himself, and I go here late last night and all get a bunch of onigiri and ramen combos with kaarage, gyoza, and edamame. The staff was very friendly they never seemed as if they did not want to be there we were even given a breakdown of there menu as first time customers. The food came out faster then we could even sit down and begin talking and once the bowls came out there wasn't much conversation anyhow. The tonkatsu I ordered was amazing and full bodied that I ended up ordering a second bowl of spicy tonkatsu that was even better then the last and didn't leave a bite behind. To top it off the lady who I assume was manager made sure to table touch with us and seemed to appreciate our patronage, she even followed us out the door with two umbrellas and walked us to our car in the rain. Over all I'd reccomend to any and everyone in the mt pleasant area to bring your wallets and empty stomachs to hachiyas for an authentically wonderful...
