One of the friendliest environments I have seen in a restaurant in a long time. The staff is friendly, even the guests are friendly. The food was delicious, though a bit rich for me, I needed a box to go. Overall I had a very positive experience and would consider coming back in the future.
The only thing that gives me pause is the woman who brought out my food, Lila. She asked me if my dog was a service dog, and what tasks he provides. This implies that she knows the law because those are the two questions you are supposed to ask, the only two questions. Unfortunately she went on to tell me that she didn't want him around other customers because of potential allergies. I informed her that the law specifically states that allergies are not a valid reason to deny service. She turned around and walked away loudly exclaiming in front of the other customers "Oh well that is a great law!" to which I replied almost as loudly "Yes it really is". Because it is. It is unfortunate for allergy sufferers that this could be a potential issue, as an allergy sufferer myself I can empathize. That said the health of one person should not supersede the health and civil rights of another.
Lila if you are a manager or the owner of the restaurant it is your responsibility to know the laws of the state in which you operate. If you are an employee it is best to get a manager before you publicly confront someone about their disability. It is not good practice to deny service, or in this case harass, a disabled person as a representative of your employer.
Edit: I forgot to mention the coffee bar. It is a cool concept, elevated by a variety of unique and nicely...
Read moreYou know the saying about having a good experience, tell a friend. Have a bad experience, tell everyone. Well, here it goes (everyone). After being a repeat customer during my visits to the area for many years, the food was always good and consistent, often with long waits on the weekend. Last visit, my own mistake was forgetting my credit card on the payment clipboard. By the time I realized it, the restaurant was closed rest of the day and the next day (Monday). On Tuesday, I called and spoke with a male who answered the phone, and he found the credit card. I asked if he could mail it to me (since I was already in Florida). He asked if I had a friend who could pick up the credit card, but that was not an option to me. After several huffs & puffs, he took my address and advised that he was very busy and it would take a few days to get it in the mail. I said that was acceptable, and then he emphatically told me, “This will have to come out of my pay and YOU’RE welcome,” and then a click (hang up). After waiting 8 days, I called to inquire. A gal put me on hold, and then she said that the employee had mailed the card. Now that it’s been 15 days, there is still no card in the mail, so I thought I’d give everyone a friendly reminder not to make the same mistake. I would have been happy to make it worth his effort up my next visit, but now there will be...
Read moreI happen to work in the neighborhood near these guys, and I gotta say. I absolutely love them! I go here all the time and is an astounding breakfast/lunch spot, especially for the area! The food is no joke, these guys know what they are doing. I give props to the owner, Brian, who runs the place and has done a superb job redoing the place to peak performance. He even himself works on the floor front and back as a true owner of a business that really does care.
The service is always welcoming with hospitality even if you just come in for a to-go order. They really do try to take care of you! Their menu occasionally cycles with specials on their chalk board, as you walk in to the left. Which is nice to see new menu items.
Also just wanted to point out, and if you ever do get the chance early in the AM. You can catch Father John behind the podium with a welcoming smile! Is truly a blessing that he and the staff are there, great company! Definitely favorite brunch spot hands down, for me. In the end, always have had a satisfied, and refreshing...
