Geo’s Gas Station Lounge — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Geo's reminds me of Cheers. It's a place you can go where everybody knows your name. The atmosphere is pleasant, the building is clean along with the parking lot.The food is good and tasty but there is always room for improvement. My visit today started out wonderfully. But it ended with $11's plus a decent tip worth of food that I was unable to eat and enjoy. I had placed a to-go order of fried ravioli and fried cheese cubes. I went straight home to eat the food that I was unaware of being so overcooked that I could not eat most of it. If you cannot eat something then you cannot enjoy it. and if you can't enjoy it then what is the point of spending money on it. I'm just saying that no matter where you go to eat, make sure your food is cooked correctly before you go spending too much of your money and wasting it. I learned a valuable lesson that I will have to remember if I ever go back up there to eat again. Other than that the place is good. If you like Dive Bars, you will love Geo's! From the filthy walls and ceilings, to the dingy interior; from the unusual smell of alcohol, mold and mildew mixed together, to the urine-soaked bathroom with toilets that occasionally work; Geo's is low-class at its best! The food is remarkably questionable. I once ordered a steak and received a tough and grisly piece of meat covered in charred Grease. It tasted like their Grill had never been cleaned. The staff is great. You can the watch people who seem like Zombies putting money in the video poker machines when bored. Traveling! We stopped in, and great vibe on a Sunday (and Holiday) with Teens trying to find a sit down Resturant. This didn’t miss! Pool table (they loved) , Adult separate casino games. Nicely spaced out, clean and friendly. Locals were even better as helped with direction with local HWY construction. Welcoming, good people and even had Easter egg hunt inside!!! Food 10/10 a great price. My kids LOVED the fried pickles and burgers with options of what kind of fries they could choose from.
