All the best qualities of an unpretentious dive-bar.

The staff are friendly, attentive, no-nonsense, and the pours are stiff and frequent if you're a friendly and responsible bar patron.

Atmosphere can vary depending on the night, but even at its noisiest, The Getaway exudes an upbeat and friendly informal vibe. Most of the clientele are local MLT residents and older regulars, but it ticks younger and more bouistrous on weekends and during Seahawk games.

Beers on tap vary, with the dive standards (Bud, Miller, PBR) featuring, but there are some good microbrews on rotation as well. Prices are generally good, and it's one of the few joints where I can buy the guys a round or two without feeling like I'll need to sell a kidney in the bathroom.

Parking is plentiful with a large gravel lot in the back, and during busy nights, there will be a door man or two. There are two pool tables, some pinball/arcade machines, pull tabs, Wednesday to Saturday karaoke, and a small dance floor.

All in all, if I want to go out with friends for a good time without getting too dressed-up and without breaking the bank, the Getaway is a hard...

Yes! Anything and everything a tavern needs; from the staff, to the locals, and regulars... When I first came here, I was literally welcomed with open arms by the wonderful Kelly! Shortly after my first time, there was a "Customer Appreciation" weekend,

WOW, DO THEY TREAT THEIR PEOPLE RIGHT!

The staff, the owner, and even their cooks take pride in what they do. Sure, it sound cheesy as Isay this but, I've literally never been disappointed, except the time I was shorted on tots one day (😔), but I get it, probably just one of those days.

I brought many friends here, and all have been welcomed. I brought my buddy with pom-pom buns, and he was a hoot and a half for everyone. I enjoy that we can be free spirited, happy, and unbothered by others by being ourselves.

They literally have some sort of special everyday, and they literally draws me into coming here most often, and continously passing on the word to join me and/or my friends at this establishment.

I appreciate everything the owner and their employees do for us at this little gem, and I hope they are all getting tipped well!

This bar is one of those neighborhood dives that is more like a family than a business. Yes, the regulars receive excellent service because they frequent so often, the bartender knows their drink by heart. I have known the owners/bartenders by heart and know for a fact they hold service to a high standard and will serve anyone who orders as best they can. This bar is more focused on using profits to improve service rather than lay concrete in the parking lot and buy expensive decor. If you are looking for a place with drinks that are both strong and inexpensive, five star food and Pier 1 furniture, you are in the wrong place. But if you're looking for a fun place to unwind after a busy day with people from all aspects of life, you have found it. And as for the "American Idol" singers, you can't hold the bar responsible for their patrons, and maybe if you frequented here more and gave the bar more than one chance, you might find yourself enjoying the food, service and clientelle a...
