Let me start this off by saying I have enjoyed the Pho and other fare here pretty frequently for a few years now. However after my experience today I won't be returning.

Today me and my girlfriend each got a bowl of Pho, and after finishing most of each, my girlfriend found a small maggot in hers. I called the cashier woman over and showed her. She apologized and cleared our table.

After sitting for a moment and discussing for a moment with my gf about the issue we decided we would obviously not be paying for the soup. I went up to the counter and was going to explain that I wouldn't be paying and the lady immediately apologized and said we would not have to pay. To their credit they were nice about it and it wasn't a hassle despite the fact that we had both finished the majority of our food before we found the maggot.

As I said I had enjoyed the food here for quite a while without any issues, and this could have been a one-off incident, but I just don't want to risk that again, so I won't be eating here anymore. It is a bit disappointing as it was my go-to spot for Pho, and they are making some renovations and the place is beginning to look much nicer.

Two stars because I had plenty of great experiences here, but one maggot can kinda negate...

I used to live down the street from this place and would come get pho on a regular basis. Its been a few years and i was sick in the area, so stopped in for some soup n bubble tea. (Cuz ya know, bubble tea fixes all lol) theyre in the middle of renovating the place, so its completely different looking than i remember. Much nicer. The bubble tea tastes a bit griddy, they use the power stuff and didnt blend it well. I recieved my food very quickly. Unfortunately they didnt give me lime or jalapeno. I waited a few mins before eating waiting for someone to come back over so i could ask for some. No one did so i ate. The food is still good but They cut the amount of meat to like 1/3 of what it used to be. Ive been done with my meal for over 30mins and am STILL waiting for someone to check on me to see if i need a water refill or a box for my soup to go.... ive had 4 workers look at me patiently waiting, then walk the other way. They're too busying talking to each other than to check on their customers. Customer service has gone down the toilet and im NOT impressed. Wont be returning next time...

Seattle is a place with an abundance of Pho restaurants, and the majority of them seem to just stick to mediocrity. They find a way to make some cheap beef broth and rice noodles and call it Pho, expecting you'll be happy eating it because you don't know any better. This place however is the best Pho restaurant in the area, and one of the best in Seattle in my opinion. I absolutely love their broth, as it seems to stand out better then the rest. But Pho is just the start, because this place has an entire Vietnamese food menu. The way they cook their meats for the rice dishes is delicious. I would highly recommend trying their Vietnamese chicken or pork sandwiches. I've found a personal favorite combination of getting a small pho and a chicken sandwich, and dipping the sandwich in the beef broth. I'd say I order this about 90% of the time I go, because the bread soaks up all the beef broth for a fantastic treat! Yes the decor is a tad dull, and the service might not be your 5 star restaurant variety, but for great tasting and cheap eats I highly recommend trying...

My friend and I tried here for the 1st time around noon on Thursday. There was a middle-aged man that took our order with a cold face. We both ordered pho and requested the steaks to be put on the side. I have always ordered my pho this way at every Vietnamese restaurant I have been to and the waiter/waitress always understands what I mean right away: meaning - I want the steak raw on the side so I can cook it myself in the broth. Well, not here. Our pho came with two separated small bowls of COOKED steaks in them. Really? We were speechless and decided to just go ahead and eat these OVERCOOKED steaks. And also knew that we would never come back. I usually return my dishes if they are over cooked, if I was in a high-end restaurant, and they usually happily make you a new dish. But I didn’t want to take my chance here as I have heard enough bad things about small Asian restaurants.

This was our first time ordering here and it will also be the last. We ordered the grilled short rib with rice and shrimp, and the grilled pork and eggroll vermicelli. The beef short ribs were completely burnt. They were not just charred on the edges but black, dry, and inedible. They tasted like burnt charcoal. The meat was paper-thin and dried out. I honestly cannot believe that this plate of six tiny pieces costs $19.99 plus tax and tip. Seattle is expensive, but this was not only overpriced, it was unacceptable. The vermicelli was slightly better, but still bland and forgettable. If I had eaten at the restaurant, I would have sent the food back and walked out. Takeout was the only reason I did not. As a small business owner, I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt it needed to be said.

Green Papaya Restaurant in Shoreline, WA, offers a satisfying Vietnamese dining experience with a streamlined ordering process where guests can place orders at the counter or through the touchscreen menu at the front. The service is excellent with friendly and welcoming staff to ensure a smooth experience. The shrimp fresh rolls were as expected, light and refreshing, with vermicelli and crisp lettuce. The peanut sauce, while a bit watery, delivered solid flavor. The standout dish was the brisket pho, which featured a rich, bold broth with tender, well-cooked brisket, creating an incredibly comforting and flavorful meal. Between the efficient ordering system, warm hospitality, and delicious food, especially the stellar pho, Green Papaya makes for a great spot to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The strawberry slush was refreshing!
