My husband and I moved to the area and wanted to try out this diner for breakfast. Sunday rolls around and we head over, arriving around 10:30am. When we arrived we saw how busy they were. There were so many people waiting for their name to be called and we were told wait time would be between 20 to 40 minutes due to them being short staffed. We were in no hurry so we decided to wait and gotta tell you, it was worth it.
I am about quality vs quantity. And at first I was a bit worried seeing as how many people there were and the fact that the restaurant only had 3 cooks with only 5 servers. We waited 25 minutes for our name to be called and they sat us down and quickly took down our drinks. We waited another 10 minutes for our server to come and take our order. Our server was friendly, oriented and overall very helpful. After he took our order we waited another 15 minutes before our food came out.
We order the Carne asada burrito, the huevos chorizo burrito and the Elvis French Toast. And holy hell - the food was just DELICIOUS. I was so impressed at the quality and taste of our food when they only had 3 cooks who were cooking both for people eating there and doordash orders. Everything was delicious and we just can't wait to go again. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, I definitely recommend the Elvis French Toast. It's 100/10
If you are in a hurry and want something quick, I would highly recommend not eating here if it's too busy. You will just...
Read moreFinally tried this place after driving around it many years.
I was seated immediately, no waiting, and literally seconds after being seated, I was offered water and also offered a coffee which I graciously accepted.
They have a seniors menu and this is very much appreciated for as I've grown older, I can no longer eat the size of portions usually served at a place like this. I opted for the Eggs Benedict, which included one egg and one English muffin plus hash browns. The egg was cooked properly and, unlike what some people have said, the muffin was not soggy at all. The hash browns could've been browned a little more on one side, but that's really nitpicking.
Now, unlike a few other reviews I have seen, I knew that the coffee was not going to be included in the meal. However, I must say the charging of $4.25 for a cup of coffee does seem excessive. Granted, if I was there with a group and I was going to be sitting for longer times, yes, that price would not be too much of a concern. However, it was just me and there was no need for me to stay overly long so that price tag did seem higher than it should be.
As I said, service was outstanding and I strongly...
Read moreJust your below average breakfast place when it comes to the food. Aside from the food, they do have very friendly staff (reason why I added a star)
Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with O'Brian potatoes while my girlfriend had the Santa Fe Scramble with Hash-browns to go.
The Chicken Fried Steak was tough to cut through and was kind of hard with no flavor. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a premade prepackaged patty fried a little too long. The O'Brian Potatoes were undercooked slightly and was also bland. The gravy was just your typical bottled or canned gravy, nothing special about it. They did get my eggs right so I will give them that. Best part of the meal was the toast.
My girlfriend said the Santa Fe Scramble was also just average. The scramble had no flavor and was a little watery. The hash browns were burnt, but at least she enjoyed her toast as well.
Overall, was not worth the $40 I spent. Would not recommend going, especially with those prices for the quality of...
