Me & my friend visit there often, she likes the area very much, Also known for 'Candy Cane Park', area about 60 acre's, across the street (east side) is where u can play disc golf, small parking lot but plenty out on the street, the park is relatively small also with play area for little kids to clump up & slide down, & there are swings there also, & sand box area, small but Grass field next to it is pretty large, with a walking wide trail that leads up to mountlake terrace elementary & dog park. Owls & Bats are around, Some of these bats fly in day time, u hear squeaks/clicks it's a bat, mostly night time can hear better, not sure what kind of bats, there's about 15 different types in Washington state, from 2.5 inches to 6+inches, few I seen where common little brown ones(myotis lucifugus) to what I believe are lasiurus cinereus, because they look as big as ...
Read moreThis park is notable for the large playground structure with 8 slides and a variety of climbing apparatus (chain ladder, giant coil, stationary ladder, arch ladder, and others). It's great for older kids needing to get some gross motor activity. There are 6 standard- sized swings and two baby swings. Other than the baby swings, I would not consider this a toddler-friendly playground because the structure is quite large and there are some open sides (fall hazard). Next to the play area there is a covered area with picnic tables. The material on the ground is sand, not chips like many other playgrounds, so we came home a little bit dusty from playing. The park also features a Frisbee golf course and a large open lawn area. There are some hiking paths through a wooded area. Ultimately I give it only 4 stars because it lacks a restroom, although a Port-a-potty...
Read moreWell maintained 60acre park. The main trail seems miles away from everything while being just minutes from the interstate. This is a great place to walk the dog or just as an escape to get in a walk/jog. The trail has a very gradual (almost unnoticeable) incline but is a very easy walk (about 1mile) overall. I have difficulty walking due to disability and inclines of any sort are usually out of my capabilities but this is enjoyable and safe so most people can enjoy this. Most of the path is through a wooded area and along a creek (it is dry or nearly dry in the summer heat). Stick to the wide, main trail as some of the intersecting trails don't appear to be officially trails and are largely overgrown.
This park has it all... disc golf, play area, picnic shelter, wildlife, wild flowers and trails. What more...
