Went for vegan ice cream. The door has a Vegan Pittsburgh sticker and inside they have a sign that says ask about our vegan flavors. They also had vegan banana whip on their menu. We waited 15 minutes in line and when we got up to the counter and asked about the vegan options the server said he didn't know what they were. He thought the sorbet was vegan but wasn't sure. There was nothing marked vegan in the case. Then when we asked about the vegan banana whip he said neither he nor the other server there knew how to make it. We left very frustrated and disappointed. Betsy's serves farm fresh homemade ice cream. Vegan options are also available. Their famous flavor is called "Pittsburgh pride" which is yellow colored ice cream with chocolate pieces inside. Betsy's offers a reward card which can give you a free scoop once filled. They also sell Zeke's coffee in limited varieties. Free behind store parking is available only during limited hours and days. Although portions are small you can tell this is quality ice cream at a very reasonable price. Tables are actually chalkboards for kids to enjoy....

I used to like this place a lot better but the last few times it has just been kind of meh. I asked for an ice cream sandwich but they were out of cookies. Instead, I ordered a regular ice cream. I received a super small serving of ice cream and there were no signs of moose in my moose tracks ice cream. No moose peanut butter cups or moose peanut butter cup crumbles. No moose fudge.
