What an experience! You could buy a suit anywhere. But do yourself a favor and read my review. You’ll thank me later! I needed a new suit for my only daughter’s upcoming wedding. Something special, a suit that would make her proud and make me feel confident walking her down the aisle. Nothing off the rack is ever comfortable or fits well. I’m on the short side and stocky, so something made for me was a must. The problem was I had no idea where to look.There was the old fashioned tailor made option. The idea of multiple fittings and long lead time was not appealing, but the extremely high cost was unaffordable. While searching online I came across several sites that offered low cost custom made suits. Too good to be true, the problem was getting your measurements. Common sense tells you the most important part of a custom suit is the fit. These discount sites relied on either providing your standard off rack sizes, measuring yourself or taking photos with your phone. The fine print explained that the site would provide up to $100 for you to find a local tailor for adjustments or send the suit back and they would try to make a better fit. Again, not an option. Then I was referred to several up-scale department stores and local men’s clothing stores. After researching all of them I discovered that they just measure you and send the info to a huge automated clothing manufacturer who adjusts a standard off rack pattern to be close to your measurements. Worse yet, they were very expensive. I was not pleased, but decided to call a local “fine men’s clothing store” and make an appointment. During the call I told them I was concerned about a good fit, since my build is a little challenging. Their response was, and I quote: “well if I can’t fit you, I’ll refer you to David Alan”. What a great lucky break.I looked up David Alan, and figured why not cut to the chase. I called and David himself answered, I explained what I had gone through and asked if I could just stop in and check them out. After a quick conversation with Joseph Fazio, I set up an appointment as the price was surprisingly affordable. The extensive style choices, fabric options and style selections were carefully explained. The choices were mine to make with the expert advice and guidance from Joseph. I set up an appointment for a fitting and looked forward to creating my special wedding suit. When the day came I was warmly greeted by Joseph, whom through our initial meeting and ongoing correspondence, had become a friendly mentor. While going over the fabric options we were joined by David who helped guide me to my final choice. Joseph and I finished the options, did the measurements and went over the final details. In fact, his insight at just the right times helped me (and my indecisiveness) select the absolute best selections for my vision while keeping me focused. My experience was five star. Joseph didn’t just sell me a suit, he sold me a memory. In the end, they say our lives flash before our eyes. Kind of like a movie.
