It is exactly what you'd expect. We didn't shop for any good since we were just passing thru on our way home. A friend that lives in the area wanted to meet here. To be honest, my wife was apprehensive. We sat at a well used but clean booth in the corner with our friends. There were many tables and booths closed so people could social distance. A young waitress promptly greeted us and took our drink orders. I don't know of there after sizes to the drinks, as we all just ordered something. They came out in huge cups, so don't bother ordering a "large"😜. They had diet coke, so my wife was happy. She ordered taquitos and I the mini tacos, asada. Food came out quickly and hot. My mini tacos plate had a side of a bowl of beans, a lemon wedge, and a small cup of taco sauce. The taquitos came with refried beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream. Let me just say, the asada is the BOMB! Dang, it was good. And that bowl of beans was perfection. They were obviously home made. I didn't mind having to pick out the large piece of pork fat that had given up so much flavor. The beans were tender but not mush and the 4 year old in my was even excited to find the little circle of hot dog that was part of this beautiful creation. My wife was generous enough to share a taquito with me. Crispy, chicken perfection. Look, this is not fancy at all. In fact, it could use a good remodel but it looks like a family operation. We will always support something like that. The food is honest and understated. The service was good, even though I believe there may have been a bit bit of a language barrier (it's a Mexican establishment, the language barrier is my fault and I'm good with that). Don't come expecting a 5 star restaurant. I feel like they are far better than 3 star...
Read moreMy wife loved Mexican food, I am getting used to it. As a rocker originally from the show me state my tastes lean more towards the Midwest, Southeast or the North but this restaurant is very palatable and I find myself there often. My wife loved to eat there and we bought a painting from them of The Last Supper. It was unusual, as Jesus and His disciples were sitting at a round table. After my wife passed, I again stopped for dinner and the food was excellent and I now own another painting of Christ breaking bread alone. ...in remembrance of my wife, Twyla Montano, my love. Raisin pie goes out to Taqueria Guadalajara...
Read moreAs a northerner who only knows Taco Bell, it was nice to get assistance in selecting a meal with foreign sounding names. The Chicken enchiladas were tasty and the cheese sauce had a bit of heat. The rice was bland by itself but mixed with the refried beans, it tasted much better. I also got a shredded beef burrito. The thing must have weighed a ton...to the regret of my diet. Kind of bland until I poured some of the sauce in it. Prices were quite adequate, especially considering the amount of food I received. I definitely recommend this place but warn about ordering too...
