Chavas — Restaurant in Muncie

Great food, great hourly employees, magement is very poor. I visit the location at least 4 times a week, and up to 6 times a week. The regular employees do an excellent job. I can't stress how great a job they do night in and night out. It's really awesome. However, management doesn't have the reward system set up correctly, so when I visit often enough to get a reward, management won't honor it, because our location is new enough that my reward falls in another district, terra haute, that they don't honor it in Muncie, eventhough I live in Muncie, and redeem my points here in muncie. On top of that, the manager regularly makes my burrito and when he rolls it up, it rips to pieces, and I get sent home with it. However, when an hourly employee sets me up with a burrito that rips, he rewraps it, and sends me home with a great burrito. If management took the same pride in their work the the rest of their employees did, and honored their loyal customers this location would be an 11/10. We took the family to Chavas to get some authentic El pastor tacos which is some of our favorite meat choices when we eat Mexican food but a lot of places don't carry this option of meat but occasionally when we find it we always get it but normaly you have to get it the way its served, even in Las Vegas when we had it we stood in line for about 1 hour and you get your El pastor tacos with cilantro and then they give you a choice of mild or hot sauce. But at Chavas right here in Muncie Indiana on the campus stripe they really hook you up they make it fresh right and front of you, with all the choice toppings you could ever want, like queso, green onions, shredded cheese, pico digallo, white onions, cilantro, and more. Used to love this place you will actually see my wife’s 5 star review from 11 months ago if you scroll down. They have kept raising the prices, which I get inflation is getting us all….. so for my last couple of visits, I decided to get the regular burrito for 9.99 instead of the super burrito to save some money, then tonight they charged an extra 2.09 for queso cheese on my burrito(which I have ordered for the last year) without telling me that is an extra charge now!
