China Express — Restaurant in Muncie

A group of friends and I went here during our lunch break at orientation. We were honestly a little scared when we walked in -- the place is dimly lit, not decorated, and the guy at the desk in front was fairly unfriendly-looking. I have a place similar at home, but there are paper decorations everywhere and it's lit all day and the people who work there are always smiling. This place, not so. So we all ordered sesame chicken, two with fried rice and two with white rice, one in a to-go container, and two crab rangoon. It didn't take them very long to bring it to us (maybe 7-10 minutes to get it all out). However, they messed up and gave one of us fried rice instead of white. Whatever, that was okay. The food was really good! The sesame chicken is sort of spicy, but I didn't mind it. My friend said he did and had to go buy an extra soda (SIDE NOTE: the refrigerator is poorly stocked and not lit so we thought it was out of order). The crab rangoon was also really good. The sweet and sour sauce has more orange flavor than normal but I liked it.

Summation: food is really good, so maybe order to go and never go near the restaurant because it's scary, workers are scary, bring...

As a Ball State Student, I just love coming to China Express! I’m a picky eater actually, but whenever I come here I’m always happy with what I get, and I’ve had tons of their dishes! My favorite part is that you can customize your dish however you want it. For example, I like to ask for extra garlic in my dishes because I love garlic! The people in China Express are always so kind and helpful! They’ll certainly help you if you are unsure what to get. I always get the combo dishes now though. I like the food, but they are very inconsistent. They will deliver to my house then when I plan on delivery for supper is about when they will randomly decided they don’t deliver to my house. Last time they did this I pointed out they have been delivering here up to less than a week ago. Then they said they don’t deliver very late. I called about 2 hours earlier than my last delivery. I asked when delivery times stop and he didn’t know. So it’s nice if you can get it but don’t plan for it because it’s a total toss up if they will even deliver to you, or if they will what time they will. It seems to be whatever the whim...
