Full disclosure - my band played here, so you could technically say I was compensated for this review. However, I was not asked to post this. I am just truly impressed with this place and their food! We showed up early to set up (and get in a quick bite) before we went on at 7 on Saturday night. I wanted to order something that would be quick & easy to eat without getting messy, and that would sit lighter on my tummy so I could rock out without worries for the next 3 hours.
I scanned the menu quickly and ordered the Trible B's chicken wrap and fries. To be completely blunt, I wasn't expecting much. However, what showed up a few minutes later was a BEAUTIFUL, nicely sized wrap filled with chopped fried chicken, a beautiful lettuce blend, some crazy good house dressing, and gorgeous tomatoes & cheese. On looks alone, I was impressed. Then I took a bite. THIS CHICKEN WAS AWESOME. Nice and crispy fried exterior, but still so tender and delightfully meaty inside. Talk about FLAVOR. Incredible spices and herbs in the batter on this bird. It was an excellent play to the smooth and uplifting lettuce and cheese. Each bite was a great blend of flavors that somehow each kept their own identity, while complementing each other. Then the sundried tomatoes added a nice acidic and slightly punchy kick every 2nd or third bite. I wish I had taken a pic. I blame myself for underestimating how good this was going to be on the front end!
Next: DEM FRIES! Wow. SO GOOD. Super nice coating and seasoning, and the fries are a nice size. They're a little bigger around than most, but they have a perfect balance of crispy and satisfying crunch outside while still remaining fluffy and tender inside. The other nice thing is that these fries are still good 10-15 minutes later. I had to stop in the middle of the meal and help with some other set-up stuff for our band, and was expecting the fries to have gone "meh" as they cooled/sat. Nope! Even though they HAD cooled, they were still crisp and wonderful upon my return. I was seriously impressed.
This was opening weekend for BBB, and while it was clear the staff were busy, everyone was so kind and they all took great care of us. At one point the chef came out and asked everyone in the restaurant how they were enjoying their food, and truly wanted the feedback. I excitedly told him how much I was enjoying the chicken wrap and he was so happy. He told me about what he had done to really make the chicken pop, but to be honest, I had so much going on in my head in prep for the gig that I don't remember it all. I can't wait to come back and try more of the delicious food from this place!
Also, as a band, these folks treated us very well. They were kind, accommodating, and happy to share a night of rock 'n roll with us. We couldn't ask for a better night. Our band is the Southbound Crows, and we are excited to play here again. Maybe we'll...
Read moreI am not a fan of leaving negative reviews but I feel it's important in this event. As siblings, my brothers and myself try to have a gathering at least once a month and we typically try to visit locally owned establishments so we decided to try The Boro Bourbon and Brew. We also brought along family from out of town to join us so they can experience local Murfreesboro. This was one of the worst experiences I personally have ever had and I believe everyone in our group feels the same. We were approached by Callie at first saying she would help take care of us. She was very personable and smiling! Then Taylor came in and took our drink orders and seemed to have a hard time just doing that. Most drinks came out fairly quickly but 2 of them took forever. We didn't get them until after we received our appetizers that we ordered AFTER we ordered the drinks. We ordered dinner and we're having great conversion even though the feedback on the sound system made crazy loud screeching sounds while the girl was getting set up to play/sing. Once she started playing, it was so loud we couldn't even talk to the person sitting right next to us at our own table. The music was fine but just too loud. The food was brought out at different times and the last person finally got her Burger as everyone else was finished and it wasn't even the burger she ordered. When asked, Taylor said that it wasn't his fault, he had no control over someone possibly taking the wrong burger for another customer. Someone in out party asked to see a manager and he said he was the bar manager but that his parents were kinda the owners.??? He wasn't apologetic, simply stated that he had been there longer than he was supposed to and needed to go and we had to cash out. We had requested water... never got any until my sister in law got up and went to the bar to get some for us all. We paid the tab, which had a tip figured in because we had 8 people but of course that was never mentioned. We would never have not tipped but the tip he got was definitely not deserved. He never came back to check on us. We requested receipts when he ran the cards and we never got that either. My sister in law even cleared the table after we paid. We left and stood outside for a few minutes to talk where we could hear each other and Callie came out to apologize for anything bad that had happened. That is the ONLY reason there is a 2 star. She gets a 5 star on her own! We love supporting local but it's very doubtful that we will be back to Boro Bourbon and...
Read moreGave Boro Bourbon & Brews a shot for the first time with my wife. We order cheese curds for an appetizer. She got a plain burger (she doesn't like toppings) and I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Both orders came with fries and we both had water to drink.
Dylan was our server. We sat ourselves at a table in the back near the restrooms and had our drinks received and app order placed within 15 minutes of arriving. We got there close to 5pn and it wasn't busy inside.
The cheese curds arrived hot with a side of marinara sauce. They are decent, but I wouldn't call them cheese curds. It's just mini fried mozzarella bites. They're very (and I mean VERY) greasy.
My wife ordered her burger well done (you can have your burgers cooked to order, which I really like). There was still a little bit of pink in the middle but not enough for her to send back. It definitely had a char grilled flavor and tasted fresh (I had a bite). She's not the biggest fan of char grilled flavor so if you're not either, you may not like their burgers. But objectively speaking, they're good quality.
My Philly cheese steak sandwich was the best part of my dining experience here. The meat was savory and juicy, the bread was slightly toasted on the outside but still soft with a nice chew. I didn't change anything about how it comes (provolone cheese, peppers and onions) and these ingredients really enhanced the power house of flavor that this sandwich delivers.
The fries that came with both of our meals definitely tasted fresh. I'm not sure what they're seasoned with, but it definitely has a mild, sweetness to it (maybe a barbecue seasoning). Again, my main gripe is how greasy they were, same as the cheese curds.
Lastly, you'll be given the option to pay your bill with cash or card, with card being slightly more. I've seen this before back north where I'm from, but hardly ever around here. If you wanna save a buck, bring cash lol.
Overall, not a bad place. I won't be running back here anytime soon, but definitely not going to stay away either.
