When I first heard a new D's was coming on South Church, 5 minutes from my home, oh boy, I was absolutely ecstatic! First chance I got I made the short drive and ordered my 4 piece fish with fried okra and fries, and of course tons of vinegar. After the first bite I was HOOKED! I usually don't eat the sides at any restaurant, but I gobbled mine and that's saying something. But their fish is the rockstar for sure. It's fried to perfection with just the right amount of batter. The beautiful white fish glistens in the light and tastes so incredibly fresh, there is not even a hint of that all-too-common 'fishy' taste. The food is just great, that's all there is too it.

I have more praise for our new D's! It's very clear, as of two days ago that changes have been made throughout to improve on the restaurant and safety of its patrons and staff alike. There seems to have been some staffing changes, for the better, as well as incorporating more safety measures. For example, the first time I went there I did almost slip and fall near the drink fountains as the floor is extremely slick when barely wet, I'm happy to announce that there is now a non-slip rug covering that area and the 'caution wet floor' sign is much more visible. They have also added hand sanitation stations throughout the premises and as when it first opened I didn't not see one staff member masking up, the last time I went there, there were several doing so! Not all, but some are better than none! THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THESE CHANGES!!
The food hasn't changed, it's still...
Read moreThat's it.... Absolutely LAST time EVER visiting this location!!! I patiently waited for a 2pc catfish dinner at 9:02pm and this is what I got posted in pic attached (2 small fish tenders). Really? They apparently turn the OPEN sign off @ 9pm & dim lights inside, so customers won't come in.... I asked for a leader to share how extremely small the portions were for a $10.27 dinner. Manager (Amber) brushed me off, shrugged & says "that's what they send us, all of them are like this". I then asked for a refund.. No apology... she says to the cashier, give her a refund & throw this in the trash, because we can't do anything with it! đ§I was appalled to say the least! She acted as if I wasn't standing there... I responded respectfully & shared that as a leader, she could have handled this differently. Instead of trashing it in my face, she had opportunity to fix it & retain a customer. She then says, I can't give away free food to customers when they complain & said she'll tell her manager. She then tells the cashier, refund her & she can keep the food. Like I drove all the way there & spent money wanting free food?? Insulted again! Never once did Amber apologize... The cashier did apologize & refunded me. I left with the food, but lost my appetite...

My order was wrong⊠ordered catfish. They gave me batter dip. Drive all the way home. Noticed it. I called. They said over phone, check other box, I stated itâs not in there, then they say oh Yu ordered batter fish! To cover up their mess up, I said no I did not. So I drove back with food and receipt to show them. She says well she rung Yu up for batter dip fish , I said well I clearly said I wanted catfish multiple times. ( by the wayâŠ. Iâm talking to the general manager at this point ) So I said well ok⊠since yâall rung me up for incorrect plate, can I just pay the price difference?! She said No! Youâre gonna pay for a whole new plate ! Or Iâm calling the police because youâre being loud. I said ok, just give me higher up number, (corporate) . She decides to be smart and just give me her own personal card with only her information on it. I am beyond disappointed with this establishment. And also the workers . They all need to handled...
