Buckle up friends. This one is a bit of a ride!
Awhile back, Jet's Pizza decided to stop delivering in my area. This made us reliant on third party apps to receive their delicious pizza, specifically DoorDash.
Well, I have placed two orders for delivery from Jet's Pizza, and on both occasions, despite tipping very generously, my order was stolen. DoorDash notified me hours later that the food would not be arriving as the driver has taken off with the order. Once was infuriating enough, but twice was just simply unacceptable, so I deleted the application when customer service just couldn't quite make the situation right. The store refused to remake the order, and they kept trying to push credits versus an actual refund.
The restaurant was incredibly rude and lacking empathy for the situation, and as it turns out, it may be for a reason.
Others have shared their experiences with me, and their stories are shockingly identical to mine. The series of events are repeated quite frequently, but through various customers and their respective wallets. The more they tipped, the higher the chances they shared my fate. This location has been staying the tips meant for the drivers, and giving them nothing to deliver the order. Disgruntled that they allegedly received no tip, they run off with the food. DoorDash takes the blame, and the store refuses to remake the order.
This is simply unacceptable, and something really needs to be done about this atrocity. I demand...
Read morePaid over $6 for a salad that I initially asked for a salad with a lot of veggies. The lady suggested the garden salad and said that would be the best fit for lots of veggies. I didn't check it untill I got home from my GrubHub shift and it has cheese on it. I am vegan, so.... how am I supposed to eat this? So I called and the guy who answered says well next time specify no cheese. Could've swore I did. I say ok, I'll just pick it off. Go check out the salad and pick the cheese off and it is mostly lettuce. White lettuce. Few veggies. And cheese. So I called back. Asked if I could bring my salad back and get the money back, he says he's not sure they can do that. I said I can bring it back tonight, they're already closed. So maybe tomorrow, he said no. After a decisive battle with the rona, him and I celebrated his victory (after quarantining, of course) with a large deep dish pizza deal and a side of brownies. He had been spending the entire night having to talk through the vocoder I built for him, laboriously having to enunciate every word just for me to understand him barely in his new robot tongue like Boba Fett trying to understanding the various species in Mos Espa in the new Disney+ original tv show (which is decent but not as good as the Mandalorian).
