I've been here twice, it's so frickin' good. I love the tortas!! And I'm Mexican, I can make any of this at home. But it's actually worth spending the money at this place. I had to come back and try the sangria, which was fantastic. I was sober two years before this, so maybe I was a light weight again, but the Sangria has nearly taken me out.
Damaris (served me prevuously/served my mom prior to my visit) and Manuel (who served me today) were wonderful. I've been nursing this sangria for nearly an hour. My torta was gone within thirty mins. The portions are huge (to me.) The drinks are loaded. (to me.) And I seriously think everyone should come here. This is the best Mexican food in all of Tennessee.
And that's coming from a die hard Texan Mexican food lover. I travel to California a lot, too. Mi Patria definitely holds 2nd place. Only cause the habanero salsa at la mini birreria holds the crown.
If they had that salsa here, this would be number 1. It's so good. So well seasoned. Everything is huge (to me) in size. Every single bite has flavor. Every server I've had thus far is wonderful. I think the owner has even come to my table, he was so nice.
I highly recommend the tortas and a drink. Specifically, the sangria if you want alcohol. I brought my own coke zero, which, I know you're not suppsed to technically bring your own coke....but I am picky. I prefer soda cans over fountain. They let me in with it, thankfully. However, please be respectful, I truly am a picky person and prefer water over the fountain/bringing my own drink. But I also tend to consume the mixed drinks, lol. Anyways, just come eat here, it's fantastic. My new go to place!
(photos are from both visits. I personally preferred the pambazo over the estilo...
Read moreMy husband and I haven’t tried any Mexican restaurants since moving to TN so we were on the lookout for one with good reviews. My sister recommended Mi Patria based on others suggesting it on social media so we decided to give them a shot!
The restaurant definitely has the vibe going. I love all the decor they have and the fun colors!
I ordered the strawberry margarita but unfortunately it tasted weird! Not sure what tequila they used but it was not good. However, their horchata is top notch! Tastes authentic and just the right amount of sweetness.
My husband and I ordered their empanadas for our appetizer. We tried three flavors: shredded chicken and cheese, ground beef and cheese, and the shredded beef and cheese. All 3 tasted good! My favorite was the shredded chicken though.
For our main course my husband ordered their fajita burrito and I got the spicy green burrito with shredded beef. Let me start off by saying their burritos are HUGE! Probably enough for two people to share. My husband said his burrito was good but once he tried mine he did say it was better than his. I didn’t try his fajita burrito but I did like mine! I thought it was weird they cover most of their burritos in cheese sauce but it actually tasted pretty good!
We also got their churros and ice cream for dessert and that was a nice ending to our meal. Their churros were nice and fresh! Paired with the ice cream was a nice touch.
Our waitress was pretty good during our visit but she did disappear at the end when we wanted to pay our bill. Another waitress had to come and help us out.
Overall I’d say Mi Patria was pretty good. I wouldn’t mind...
Read moreWill not go back. 2nd time they have forgot about us. We decided to give them another try on 5-4-2025. There were 2 of us. They got us right to a table. Got our water and chips took our order. Our waitress came by and told us our food would not be long then we did not see her again After waiting on our food for 50 minutes and our waitress seemed to disappear, They brought food to 2 different tables that arrived after we did one of the tables got there 15 minutes after us, had 7 people and had what we ordered. We left and went somewhere else to eat. (Different visit) This is not our first time here, and the other visits were better. They got us a table as soon as we walked in and brought chips and salsa right away. After that, things went downhill. After finishing our bowl of salsa and watching people that were seated after us get their drink orders taken, we finally stopped a waiter that was passing by and asked if anyone was going to wait on our table. He took our drink and food order and brought the drinks with more salsa. As we set waiting for our food, we saw 2 different tables stop him and complain about cols casso dip and not sure what the food was at the second table, but he took them both and brought them back warm. Our food was hot and tasted good, but once we were done, we had to find the server again to get a Togo box and the check. It was a busy Saturday night, but the server seemed to spend a lot of time in the kitchen area. I'm not sure if he was helping prepare the food or was flirting with the 2 female servers that would come out of the kitchen at the same time he did on more than...
