I would highly recommend not going here. We have had multiple bad experiences.
I want to preface this all with how if you look at my other reviews 99/100 are five stars. My boyfriend and I are always so polite, and we tip generously because we too work in customer service. We have never had an issue with another restaurant.
However, the House of Hummus is truly horrible. The order is almost never right. They always take much longer than they say they will and don't apologize. There was one time that we ordered a pizza, and we showed up and no one was there. All this would be excusable if the staff was apologetic. Like I said, we both work in customer service and understand that things happen. However, the staff, with the exception of the owner, is very rude. It's really close by, so we've given them multiple chances just due to convenience.
Today was the breaking point. My boyfriend went to get us a pizza. The time estimate was 15 minutes. His card got declined, so when he got to the pizza shop, they hadn't started making his pizza. He was kind to them, and he even tipped them $5 for the trouble. He came back home and then went back in another 20 minutes. He waited for a long time. He saw multiple other people come in afterward and get their pizzas before him. Eventually, he asked about his pizza. She said they were boxing it up right then. Another twenty minutes passed, and he asked again. She said they were boxing it and that they were very busy. Meanwhile, the waitresses were smoking hookah and goofing around with their guests. Another twenty minutes passed, and he asked if he could have his money back because he had waited over an hour for his pizza. They were very rude to him. The one waitress said "think about someone other than yourself for a second, we are very busy." They didn't give him his pizza or his tip back. We tipped them $5 for the worst customer service experience we...

I respect all small businesses, and pray that the owners dreams come first. But this is probably the WORST place in Murfreesboro TN. It’s a hangout spot for hooligans. A server came out and told me 15 minutes on a pizza I was waiting for over an hour on, another girl came out of the kitchen, as drunk as could be and told me 4 minutes, i asked if she even worked there, she said “no, but I basically do”. I tipped my server 10 bucks and told her to keep the pizza and that my friends and I were leaving, I had to leave because the vibe I was getting from this whole group of servers/pretend servers, is that even IF I got my food, it would be spat in. While leaving, just because I stated that the service was horrible, I had ALL the servers, and ALL their friends, follow my friends and I out, trying to fight me, (one of them yelling GANG GANG the whole time pretending to want to fight me) 😂I’m not a child anymore, so I did not appreciate this. Literally payed 40 bucks in all, just to sit in this nasty environment with a couple of buddies. Most disguising place, there was literally a WHOLE PILE OF FIECES ON the toilet. Not in, ON. There is always near 2 inches of pee on the men’s bathroom floor.
Completely unsanitary. Staff, and staff’s friends, are completely vulgar. I have NO idea how this place is STILL open. Literally googling ways on how to make that change. It NEEDS to be shut down, because this is NOT what Murfreesboro stands for.
And when shut down, I’m sure the crazy horse will be handing out applications for all...
Read moreCalling our order in the lady was very friendly. Our order showed up in a timely matter. We ordered the antipasto salad, falafel plate (with garlic hummus and balsamic vinegarette for the 'side salad') and a 2 liter of coke for almost $40.. The hummus was plain but they sent a large side of garlic hummus, the rice was salty and mushy, the falafels were burnt and greasy/oily tasting, the side salad was a mix of green pepper, tomato and onion (umm?! ok..!) And the pita was very plain and elastic like.. The antipasto salad came with my balsamic vinegarette I wanted for the side salad and pizza crust bread sticks. Our coke was warm (luckily my hotel has a ice machine!) Well can't say I won't return since I'm on vacation but I'm not satisfied either.. use your...
