POP'S MOUNTAINTOP ICE CREAM & SHIPPING — Restaurant in Murphy

If I could give negative 0- stars I would. Combatant, elderly, man at the Pack and Ship section of this establishment who was very unfamiliar with the FedEx app and data entry. Basically, not computer savy and extremely rude! I had a letter to send via Fedex and after giving my information vetbally, it didn't work out, so I took the time to gently WRITE IT OUT for him instead. I asked if he thought it would be better to send it overnight or express and he LOUDLY and sternly commented that he had to "plug in all the info" first to get a quote. I realize this, but as standards go, anyone who uses USPS, FedEx, or UPS has a general understanding of the services offered. I politely asked again. He told me he had to WEIGH it. Ok. It's literally an envelope with a check in it. So, I said just put 1 pound. Well, this guy got so outraged, and angered, that he let out a big sigh. He was literally punching in my data, a key at a time, via hunt and peck, then telling me I was "impatient" and aggressive. l almost thought he was about to strike me. Seriously. At that point, I already decided to go elsewhere. He must have decided this at the same time, because he said :"You're too impatient , why don't you go somewhere else". I grabbed the envelope, and went to leave, but I had to say: "Heck of a way to do business. You'll be out of business within a year ". Total waste of time. It's not often I enter a business and think "I have to review this place," but that happened here. This is a spacious ice cream shop with sit-down tables, but two things made it really stand out. The first is that there are 40+ flavors here – more than any other ice cream shop in the mountains. You can drive for an hour in any direction and won't find more flavors at any other parlor. The second thing is the service. The owner is probably the happiest, friendliest ice cream scooper I've ever come across. He loves to talk about the flavors and answer your questions, he'll offer samples without you even having to ask, and I've seen him go above and beyond for customers multiple times. This place is the Chick-fil-A of ice cream joints. On top of that, they also accept credit cards, unlike a nearby competitor. I couldn't recommend this place more and that's why I knew I had to...

Pop’s Mountaintop Ice Cream & Shipping….. & hand tossed pizza…. & homemade garlic knots…& tin signs… & probably anything else you could ask for. Pop’s does it all. For a place with so many facets, you expect at least one to fall short, but our experience was nothing short of incredible. Everyone working was happy to be there, happy to meet their patrons and talk about their food. The cook, TJ was so excited to talk about the process of making the knots and you could tell he had a real passion for it and put his heart into his work. While we were eating, at least 3 people came to check and see how we were doing and talk to us. With a steady stream of customers rolling in all throughout, they never sounded stressed or anxious. Just happy to be here, and their joy was infectious. We left with a great taste in our mouths and we will be back each time we come...
