Kyung's Bakery — Restaurant in Murray

I may not have Paul Hollywood's refined pallet but I am a fat kid stuck in a middle aged man's body who prefers to eat dessert before a main course. So when I say the cakes at Kyung's Bakery are some of the best I've ever had I feel like it means something special. To further test my appreciation for the quality and taste I tried something that I would usually pass by...the infamous carrot cake. Growing up in Utah this cake type is pretty unavoidable, and I never had much love for it. Kyung's flipped the script for me, their carrot cake was like nothing I'd had in my life. It was so well balanced with the traditional flavors you would expect of a carrot cake but none of the ingredients overpowered and dominated the flavor profile. The texture was spot on, moist and smooth, all while not being heavy. Finally the appearance, it was classy, clean, and just as much a treat for the eyes as the mouth. I also had the pleasure of trying the fresh strawberry cake and again it was the best strawberry cake I've ever eaten. As for service, you would be hard pressed to encounter sweeter or more kind individuals who graciously assisted me in selecting a variety of cakes for a party I was hosting that evening. They went above and beyond making sure I was taken care of and even so thoughtful as to offer me a pastry to enjoy while I waited for them to organize and create my rather large last minute order. I heard numerous compliments from our party guests throughout the evening regarding the desserts. Needless to say Kyung's Bakery has won my heart in the way it should, through my stomach. We only have ordered cakes and pastries from this bakery three times and so far, everything we have tried are sooo good. It looks appetizing, clean presentation and most of all, very yummy delicious. They have sufficient varities too to choose from, shelves are not full of display though which means, cakes and pastries are fresh daily. The staff is super nice and willing to show you her baked products for the day, explaining what it's made of and its ingredients. They also accept custom orders for any occasions. The place is not super big but I guess just perfect size, very clean and well organized. They have ample parking too so it's quite convenient for customers. I can say that this is a hidden gem and it's worth checking. Taste and presentation wise, their baked goods are comparable to other good French bakeries we have tried around town. It's a bit hidden from the main road, along with other small and local businesses but easily accessible from State Street. We will definitely be back to try all other...

Three of us annihilated the assorted fruit bingsu within minutes, which I didn’t think possible considering the size of the thing. It was so delicious and satisfying we couldn’t stop eating! It had the perfect ratio of shaved cream to sweet red bean paste and fruit and toppings, plus a little side of ice cream to put on top. How perfect is that? We also bought assorted desserts and pastries and scarfed them down too and when we finished we went back in to get another rice twist donut because the taste and texture were so yummy, we almost cried.
