First of all I love Costa Vida but this location atleast in my visits has not been appealing at all We came in a few weeks ago on a Tuesday afternoon & there were 2 guys working the line When we were ordering our food I looked down at the food line & it was disgusting, i gave them the benifit of the doubt for whatever reason & I proceeded to ask the guy if he could get my beans and toppings from the other end as it looked at least eat able he seemed irritated but moved on. A few weeks later on a Tuesday again we were near this Costa Vida & came in to get lunch as we only had a few minutes before having to get back to work and was starving. Same thing Disgusting line Dirty and Unpleasant I should have just left at this point but limited time and a long day ahead at work we still ordered our food but again i asked to please get my salad stuff from the other end as it looked a "little" better but not much, I told him the food on that end was gross looking he didn't even try to explain reason or anything & just looked at me like are you serious? I felt like I was being a nuisance to him The other guy went to the other end and finished my salad, A guy behind me ordered a burrito & i watched as he scooped the beans from this filthy pan Working in the food industry I know this is just pure laziness! Change your pans out, clean your erea Also have they had any classes teaching them about boacholism or food born illnesses associated with this type of uncaring and filth? Have they took the food handling courses? We ended up only taking a few bites and took the rest togo also ended up just throwing it all away that night as it was untasteful & just not sitting right knowing how filthy this store is. THESE EMPLOYEES NEED A NEW COARSE IN CLEANLINESS AND FOOD ILLNESSES DUE TO A DIRTY UNKEPT FOOD LINE! Read moreLove almost everything about Costa Vida including the staff and freshness, but changes in the past year make me not want to go anymore. 1. Portions have gotten smaller without getting cheaper. 2. Tips are now requested for no table side service - not sure why we are paying your employees to do their job. 3. I usually order from the app, but when I forget, it’s very difficult to add points so I don’t bother. I think Costa Vida has intentionally made it difficult to add points from receipts so they don’t need to give rewards as often. 4. Rewards are now less valuable. I used to need to spend about $100 to get a free entree. Now I need to spend about $150 to get a free entree. 5. This change actually happened a couple years ago, but the vegetarian option no longer has a protein option such as double rice and beans. I know need to pay significantly more for extra beans/rice to get comparable protein to get an adequate amount. 6. Whole wheat tortillas are now basically gone. The healthier option is now gone showing the loss of priority over healthier options. 7. Online ordering seems to be preferred because wait times in store are significantly longer. Now I have to choose either warm food and a long line or convenience and cold food. I understand this change from a business perspective, but as a customer I’d rather go somewhere that is more convenient most of the time since I don’t get long to have lunch off of work.
With all these changes, I’d rather go to Cafe Rio where customers intelligence is respected. Sorry Costa Vida, but I think we need to part ways after years of loyalty. I hope your goal for more profit works out for you, but you’ll see that long standing relationships will tarnish...
Read moreWish I could say I had a positive experience with customer service as a lot have expressed from this location, however that is not the case. I recently became a costa fan over café rio which is why I am so bummed to write a 2 star review. The food deserves 5 stars, but the customer service was horrible as I had to go back 2 times due to things they had forgotten on my order (1 of them being the pork on my salad, there was ZERO MEAT). I placed an online order around 6:45, which was est to be done around 7:20. It was not ready when I arrived to pick it up which was not a problem at all. I waited about 12 minutes more for my food only to discover when I got home they had forgotten my tortillas on the side, so I drove back. I checked the order once more to make sure it was all good. I get home for the 2nd time, as I'm putting my dressing on the salad I realize there seriously is NO PORK on my sweet pork salad. At this point I'm annoyed, hungry, and just want my $$ back. 2.5 hours and $20 later I ended up with no salad and not one apology!!! I confronted the older gentleman when I came back for a second time that he did not care enough to even apologize. Not once did I ever get an I'm sorry, from any of the crew members!!
