Arashi Teppan Steak & Sushi — Restaurant in Murrieta

They reason we went to this place was because it got a 4.3 star rating from Google. At first glance, it looked like a nice place, typical sushi bar set up, with beautiful Japanese decor. The fact that it was empty on a Friday night should have been our first clue! As soon as we sat down, I noticed the menus were sticking to the table, the baseboards were blackened with scuffs and grime, there were splashes of what I would guess to be soy sauce on the walls and it was quite dusty by our booth. The floor were disgusting as well. After we ordered, we noticed our soy sauce dish was dirty. We asked a server for a new one and she proceeded to grab us a dish from a "clean" stack and she shuffled the dirty dish into the middle of the "clean" stack right in front of us. My husband's sake sampler glasses were dingy and after he drank them he noticed finger prints on the INSIDE of the glasses. I could see old food on the floor under a cooler in the kitchen but I have to say, what bothered my husband and me the most was that the employee who was refilling the hot sauce and soy sauce containers was eating the entire time we were there. Right behind the sushi bar where everyone's sushi was being prepared. He would fill a bottle, take a bite, fill a bottle, take another bite, all while wearing the same gloves, not changing them once. The restaurant was gross but the food was delicious. The staff was kind and attentive. This used to be my family's favorite place... I rarely write negative reviews because I want everyone to win, but our last visit here will be our last. The portions were MUCH smaller than they used to be and everything lacked seasoning. Even the soup and salad tasted bland. My scallops were undercooked, steak was overcooked and definitely NOT the cut of meat that we ordered, shrimp were overcooked as well and tasted like they had been frozen for a century. Even the fried rice was terrible and inedible. Not even soy sauce could make it edible. No one in my family of 5 ate their food. We sat at a booth, so we didn't even get the show to ease the disappointment.

On top of all that, the one young man working said he couldn't take anything off of our bill when we returned our food. He said he had to call the owner to find out what to do, then came back and said the owner wasnt answering their phone. $300 and my spouse's birthday dinner wasted. We should have walked out, but that felt wrong to me so we paid it and drove home sad, hungry and wishing we had tried Lins instead.

If that wasnt bad enough, all of us developed stomach issues shortly after getting home except for my 2 young daughters who only had chicken. The rest of our day was spent near a bathroom. Never again!

I don't know what happened to this place, it used to be better than the new Benihana to us! Truly disappointed... I am not expecting this place to be around much longer, and its not because Benihana came to the city. We won't ever...

Please do not go here!! I came here for my daughters birthday and the waitress, Vicky, was so extremely rude. I told her it was my daughters birthday and she ignored me, I had to tell the chef because she kept getting everyone all mixed up. Then I went over to the other side of the table to sing happy birthday to my kid, and the waitress took my food! I seriously had not even eaten close to half of it, and when the food is as overpriced as this place, I at least wanted to have the option to take my food home! It was ridiculous! I asked her what happened to my food, as everyone was still sitting and eating, she just said I don’t know and walked away. I just went full Karen on these people because I ordered a 40$ meal and I got to take a few bites while everyone else finished eating, I just sat there, feeling like I was in the twilight zone. It was such a hassle to even get to speak to the manager because Vicky kept saying no, I couldn’t. Then, they started seating a party as we were all still sitting down! Vicky kept my card after I paid, and kept saying she gave it back but when she finally brought it back, no apology, no explanation. Those are just the main things but there were soooo many other horrific things that happened during this dinner. I sincerely regret coming here and wish I could’ve given my daughter a better...
