Himalayan Grill & Curry Murrieta — Restaurant in Murrieta

We live nearby, so when we saw the signs go up months ago we were very curious and excited. We love Indian food and hoped the best for this restaurant.

We ordered takeout so we can’t speak to the atmosphere of in restaurant, dining, however, everything is brand new and sparkling. There’s quite a few tables and a large dining area.

When ordering by phone, it was a little bit confusing because the gentleman who I spoke with, had a very heavy accent, and when he asked me what location I didn’t quite understand. Apparently the phone number is for a couple of locations? I’m not really sure, but I told him that we wanted the one in Murrieta and there was no problem.

We took longer than expected to come pick up our order, but it was ready within 20 minutes. For our starter, we had the vegetable Samosa, which was perfectly prepared. The outside was crispy yet not dry. The inside was a wonderful balance of flavors with all of the expected highlights. A definite must do!

For our mains we had Dal Makhani, a stunning lentil and kidney bean dish with layers of flavor, a creamy consistency, and just the right amount of heat at level three. We also had lamb tikka masala, one of our favorite dishes at Indian restaurants. Honestly, this was one of the best we’ve ever had! The lamb was abundant but did need a knife to cut it, so it hadn’t been drastically overcooked, and once again the depths of flavors were outstanding. A slight sweetness with wonderful heat, the layers just went on and on. Once again, we had ordered level three heat, and it was just perfect. Both of the main dishes came with an order of basmati rice, or brown rice, or naan bread. We opted for the basmati rice with both of ours. We had enough leftovers to have an entire second meal, so the serving sizes are great!

The prices are on par with other Indian restaurants in the area, but the depth of flavor and layers of flavors that we had here will be our reason to come back. We highly highly recommend this restaurant and we hope that they are here for a very long time!

Himalayan Grill & Curry is a fantastic addition to the local Indian dining scene, and it truly stands out in a crowded field of competitors. Despite being the sixth or seventh Indian restaurant in the area, it has quickly become a favorite due to its excellent food, fair pricing, and—most importantly—its remarkable consistency. The staff are nice, and the service is always good, creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The food itself is consistently delicious, with flavors that are authentic and satisfying. While I might give a slight edge to the momos at Zen Curry, everything else on the menu at Himalayan Grill & Curry surpasses the offerings of other local establishments. One of the best features is the ability to choose between rice and naan with every curry order, a small touch that adds great value and flexibility. My personal favorite is the cheese naan; it’s so tasty that it has become the go-to meal for my little one. The fact that my child loves it and can always get a tummy-full meal is a huge reason why I find myself returning again and again. For its great food, reasonable prices, and family-friendly options, this restaurant is a clear winner.

What an incredible dining experience at Himalayan Grill and Curry! This place truly delivers when it comes to flavor, atmosphere, and service. The food was absolutely delicious—every bite was rich with authentic spices and made with care. The presentation was beautiful, making the meal feel extra special.

I especially loved the tandoori chicken, which was perfectly cooked with a smoky, spiced flavor that was out of this world. The garlic naan was warm, soft, and packed with flavor—an ideal match for everything else on the table. The momos (steamed dumplings) were a delightful surprise: tender, juicy, and expertly seasoned. And the lentil soup? Comforting, rich, and nourishing—just perfect.

On top of the amazing food, the customer service was excellent—warm, attentive, and welcoming. It really made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable. Our waiter was the sweetest.
