Pokeport — Restaurant in Murrieta

I love the food here and have been coming here for years, but unfortunately a bad experience with one of the employees prompted me to write this review and only give 2 stars. I would like to reiterate that I love the food and if it hadn’t been for my experience with this rude employee, I would give it 5 stars. I have always ordered a vegetarian bowl and a small fish, which is what I ordered this time. However, when she gave me the total, I realized that I was charged for 2 small fish bowls instead of 1 fish and 1 veggie bowl (~$4 more). I told her that it was usually a few dollars cheaper and asked if she correctly rang up the veggie bowl. I was told by the employee that because they gave me the tofu as a protein, it’s the same price as the fish poke bowl (I did not ask specifically for tofu as a protein, just ordered a vegetarian bowl as normal). She would literally not budge on anything or waver in her illogical conclusion that although tofu was included with the fish bowl (and any other bowl) for no additional charge and that there is a vegetarian bowl with a lower price in the computer, and fish costs probably triple the amount of a spoon of tofu, that I needed to be charged for a bowl with fish when I did not receive any fish nor did I ask for substitution of the fish protein with the tofu (which doesn’t make sense anyway b/c the name of the bowl is a “Small Fish” so with no fish, it’s not a “Fish” anything). I always order the same thing and they charge me the same amount. She was extremely stubborn and didn’t want to listen to any reasoning. Rounding up. More like 4.5 stars. I love me some good poke. I've been wondering about this spot since it opened and the convenience of the fact that it's by my dry cleaners. Stopped in to wait for my clothes to be ready for pick up and I'm glad that I finally did! The big fish is what they call their large bowl. They also have tacos, which I'm curious enough to try maybe next time. Interesting menu for a poke spot but it doesn't affect the quality. Never stopped in before because the place seems to always be empty, which is usually a sign that I stay away from. But then I realize that poke is so quick and half of the customers tend to take their food to-go anyways. I think I'm the only person that took almost an hour because I was killing time. The proteins are fresh. They hook it up unlike many other poke spots. And they have a stamp card!

Clean location. They're on top of cleaning right when customers leave. I feel bad because I actually spilled my cup of water. Sorry! Parking has been okay. Doubt that other shops bring in too much traffic. Might be a little hard to spot when driving from the freeways. But don't let...

Great Poke place, and one of the few in the area. We always get their family deal, which comes with a ton of food at a great price. The variety is awesome too, from poke bowls and burritos to tacos. So far we have been pleased with the freshness and flavor every time. Portions are good and the staff are friendly.

The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that we have noticed on more than one occasion that the service is a bit slow and there seems to be some confusion behind the counter at times. Nothing that would keep us from coming back, but it might frustrate a less patient customer or someone in a hurry.

I recommend this place if you like poke sushi, and definitely try one of their tacos! I do also wish they offered a better drink variety, but that isn't...
