Before I start my review, one thing of Filipino foods you have to understand. Anything made with meat will most likely have small little chips of bones in it so you have to be careful not to eat the bone.
That being said, the food items should be dirt cheap. The only time food distributors give meat items like this is either scrap or when they give it whole, which forces the one preparing the food to be deboned which is an extra step so it's cheaper.
Yet somehow, a bowl of meat with just a few other ingredients (including larger chunks of bone which takes up a lot of space) is 15 dollars??? This food item probably has a food cost of like 3 dollars. So my review is based on the price. No rice. No drink. Just the entree. 15 bucks??
I love Filipino food but sorry. Hard pass. Taste was good but after finishing, half the bowl was bones. Way way overpriced.
Edit : owner asked what I bought. Large was 12.99 plus tax (14.13) I rounded it up to 15 because I also gave a tip. Owner explained that they use high quality meat and mentioned labor. But I said food cost. Food cost for that size of dish is certainly not more than 4 dollars. Not sure what the owner is trying to say. Even 14 dollars is way too much. I can get a much bigger dish for half that price at red ginger just up the street. It is not even a full service restaurant like red ginger. Don't know what the owner is trying to say.
I wish there was more types of items. More skewers. More deserts. And more options. I felt like this was a giant place with all of this flare but when I walked up to see what they have, there was just a few items. It was very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe found this place online while visiting Temecula. The reviews were decent so we drove there for dinner thinking that they had food. Unfortunately, they only had street food displayed that you can buy but you have to grill them yourself outside the store. We asked the girl in the counter if there's any food left or at least if we could have noodles cooked for us as we were hungry and tired from the long drive from Las Vegas. The girl was kind enough to grant our request. She said that there's 1 crispy pata left but it would take 30 minutes to prepare. We also asked them for sotanghon but they were out of it so we had pancit canton instead. We sat ourselves anywhere as we were the only customers there at 6pm. The place was small and there were only a few tables inside. When the food was ready, we took them from the counter and there were paper plates and plastic utensils on 1 side. You can also help yourself with drinking water and a jug of juice available in the corner of the eatery. The pancit canton came out really good and the crispy pata came out next crispy and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wasnāt made aware that itās an extra $1.50 for dishes that has beef or seafood. Their big menu on the ceiling doesnāt indicate that and the worker donāt tell you thereās an upcharge. I just happened to be looking at the cash register when I caught the extra $1.50 and asked about it. They claimed that this been happening for several months now. Iāve ordered several beef dishes during this time and Iāve either never noticed it or theyāre inconsistent in charging the extra $1.50. I donāt care about the extra charge. Just communicate with your customers that itāll be an extra charge. Also when I ordered a combination plate, they didnāt fill up the small container to the top like how they usually do. It was only filled up halfway. And I was like thatās it? They said the owner told them to only give 4 pieces of meat. Iāve been coming here for many years when I get a craving for Filipino food, not because itās the best - the food is ok, but because itās close to my house. Iāll just be driving further to Temecula for Filipino food from now on due to my last...
