SoCal Taqueria — Restaurant in Murrieta

I've lived in temecula/murrieta for just over 3 years and I thought all was lost. Prior to moving to California, my husband and I lived in Chicago where we were used to having the best tacos. After trying a few places around we gave up on finding anything near as good as we had back home....until now. So Cal Taqueria is an oasis in this area for any taco lover looking for authentic, delicious tacos. Their agua frescas were great too, and hit the spot. I wish I had taken pictures to add to this review but the tacos were so good I inhaled them in a few minutes.

Do not sleep on this place, if you're looking for authentic tacos THIS IS THE SPOT! Definitely making this one of our go to places...

I think I would have liked this place if I would have had a good first experience. The atmosphere was good. Service was friendly. However, I came to try the Menudo. It's really hard to find a good place for Menudo and this place was recommended by a trusted Menudo connoisseur of mine. In my opinion, the flavor was good. The chili sauce they give you adds a good kick and spice to the broth which compliments it very well. Where this menudo falls short is in the cleanliness of the meat. Been here many times, have always loved their Al Pastor tacos. Its been a while since our last visit and it looks like the place got a redesign. Loved the new vibe. Food was great and staff was very friendly. Had the keto tacos today, they tasted great...my only critique is that they were very oily. I feel like thats not really their fault since cheese+al pastor can be a greasy combo...so if that might be a deal breaker for you, Id suggest carne asada instead of Al Pastor. The regular tortilla tacos shouldnt have this issue...
