I recently visited Ticca Tikka Indian Cuisine, a restaurant that has garnered quite a reputation with an impressive rating. However, my experience suggests that it might be slightly overrated.
What I liked: The ambiance and thoughtfulness put into the presentation are definitely standout aspects. The use of copper plates and branded parchment paper adds a sophisticated touch to the dining experience. The surroundings create a pleasant atmosphere, making it a visually appealing place to enjoy a meal. The service is also exceptional—special mention to Preet, who was an absolute delight to interact with. Hospitality here deserves a solid 10/10.
Room for improvement: While the food is above average in taste, it doesn’t quite reach the level of “amazing.” A bit more effort toward authenticity could make a significant difference. For example, the Amritsari naan lacked butter and was dry, which is not typical of authentic preparation. Portion sizes were another disappointment—chole served with batura or naan felt too minimal, and even the naan itself seemed thin. Value for money is where the restaurant truly struggles; despite the aesthetics, the portion sizes and taste don’t fully justify the price.
Verdict: Taste gets a 6/10, value for money earns 4/10, but the service shines with a 10/10. Overall, I’d rate Ticca Tikka a 4 out of 5—a good spot to visit, but not with overly high expectations. While it’s worth trying, focusing on improving authenticity and portion sizes could elevate the dining experience to meet its...

I'm still reeling from the incredible dining experience I had at Ticca Tikka Indian Cuisine in Murrieta! This cozy spot may not look like much from the outside, but trust me, the food is TOP NOTCH.
From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The decor is simple yet elegant, and the staff is friendly and attentive.
But the real star of the show is the FOOD. Oh, the glorious food! We ordered the Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan Bread, and let me tell you, it was LOVE AT FIRST BITE!
The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, and utterly divine. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice. I could eat it every day!
And the Garlic Naan Bread? Flaky, buttery, garlicky perfection! It was the perfect accompaniment to the Butter Chicken, and we devoured every last bite.
I've been to my fair share of Indian restaurants, but Ticca Tikka truly stands out from the crowd. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the quality of the food is exceptional.

Read moreIt's always encouraging when you go to an ethnic restaurant and see people who belong to that culture enjoying the food there. This is a small family run place, it's super cute inside for its size. The food is the more traditional Northern Indian cuisine most Americans are familiar with. It's not a huge menu, but the choices are excellent nonetheless. Service is excellent and kind.
Notable pluses: they ask about spice level and actually honor it, unlike other places locally where you say "mild" and it's hotter than Thai food or you say "medium" and there's no spice at all. Rice is included with most dishes, too.
We had: tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, aloo paratha, onion bhaji. All excellent, only 2 minor quibbles: with the tandoori, there are onions, however I prefer a mix of onions and bell peppers, that's what I've always seen in other Indian restaurants all over. The aloo paratha - just needs a bit more aloo, please and thank you! Really couldn't taste the potatoes.
Highly recommend this place. They do a brisk takeout business, too. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I hope they do well, because that shopping center they're in is dying and doesn't get a lot of foot traffic - I found them by...
