I like coming here as it is convenient with the the drive through. I have been a number of times and have had both good and bad experiences, but overall positive. I think some of the people giving horrible reviews might have just had one bad experience without going back. Things I really like about this place: The carne asada. Seasoned just right and not fatty.
I also like their red hot sauce a lot. For me this one can make or break a mexican restaurant. Some places have great carne asada, but then their salsa misses the mark and ruins the burrito, fries, or whatever Im putting it on.
Have tried a few of their other items, but mainly stick to carne asada fries or burrito. I would say the other items are pretty good as well.
Drive through: I almost always go through the drive through which is great if I have kids with me and want mexican food, but dont want to unload all of them and stand in line somewhere.
Hours: They are open late which I also appreciate.
Some things they could improve on: Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, couple times it was really long. I try to look at it as a positive that the food is being made fresh.
Prices: Seems like some items might be just a little over priced for what you get.
Overall I really like this place and its one of my go to...
Read moreOrdered a chili relleno burrito to go for breakfast because i was on my way to san diego and the cook made it smothering wet like an enchilada. Why have a chili relleno burrito served wet when u also have wet chili relleno combo plates? I thought it would be dry considering i ordered a burrito to go and not a combo with rice and beans. This thing wasnt even wrapped either. It was just a chili relleno with a torilla blanketed on top and drowning in sauce that sends me to heart burn city. And it was cold because it must've sat 10 minutes because the two girls that work counter and drive-thru are incompetent and unable to multi task. They also forgot my soda after being reminded twice. The prices are also very high. 13 bucks for a burrito and soda is way too much considering the menu doesn't specify if burritos are wet and the service is bad. My coworker with me ordered carne asada fries and said the cheese was sour and funky. I'm currently on the job yelping and dragging feet because he feels sick now....
Read moreIf you're going to offer a California Burrito then make a California Burrito! CB comes with carne asada, pico, French fries, cheese, SOUR CREAM, GUACAMOLE! If you want sour cream and guac you have to add it which makes your burrito $11. On top of that the burrito is tasteless. Such a let down. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of the steak and eggs burrito. That thing is pretty good. Update, since COVID this place has cut the amount of meat they put in their burritos. California burrito has a few pieces of meat and is mostly fries. The STEAK and eggs burrito is now an EGGS with a few pieces of meat. When I questioned the teller about it, "we haven't changed anything." Sure you haven't. I've been a customer for 15 years. Three burritos cost more and come with less meat. I'm fine being charged more. I'm not fine with being charged more for less.
I will never return to Los Primos unless they start making their burritos like...
