What an awesome place!! Excellent ambiance, decor, staff, owners, and very importantly....the ice cream!! We were greeted by Eric upon entry. He shared with us the history of the location, it's namesake, and how they got started.. a wonderful story! We sampled several of the flavors and could have chosen any of them for our main serving. Excellent sized portions and very reasonably priced. The Occidental hot fudge is delicious. A must try! They also make small batch specialty ice creams. I loved the malted flavor! As we were leaving, they mentioned that they also make food items as well. I noticed the chicken salad on the menu and said how much I like chicken salad. Chef Eric said he would be right back with a sample and quickly ran to the back. I was expecting a small spoonful, but he brought out a big plate full of the delicious chicken salad. We ordered three to go! The portions were enormous and was some of the best chicken salad I have ever eaten. The fresh, perfect croissants only made it better! Great little shop with ice cream and seasonal eats. Very friendly and helpful staff. The ice cream is definitely premium quality and very creamy. I have tried multiple flavors and like them all. The Detroit Grand Slam is especially fantastic. The cotton candy flavor tastes like real cotton candy. The key lime and Irish mint are really good too. The butter pecan is ranked number one in the country by People magazine. They also have great gourmet hot dogs, tasty walking taco nachos, and amazing bbq chicken sliders.
