Soul Filled Restaurant and Catering — Restaurant in Muskegon

Dang this was my first time here after someone recommended so I go order 50+$ in food the shrimp and grits where ok shrimp overcooked tho the chicken and waffle was fine about a 7 waffle not fully cooked the fish about a 7 the open pit bbq sauce on the turkey knuckles terrible Mac and cheese was about a 5 at most

(But what threw me off was the stuffing) this is not dressing dressing has poultry seasoning in it which this stuffing lacks of this had no onions or celery also was salty o and u wont Find any chicken in the stuffing

Gave a 2 on food because something u guys cook wit sticks to almost all the food had a Strange taste

The oreo cheese cake was so warm the cream cheese seamed like frosting Had wanted some real dressing so bad in muskegon without me making it but won't find it here

But all in all at least we have a place like this here not the best but it's here Thanks

Update nope the food is almost gross it got to be cooked in old oil I got the chicken and waffles again I have never seen chicken this small the other day the where a good size today 3-11-25 smaller then station grills Last thing 25$ shrimp and grits will not sell out use clean grease...

I ordered online as I had been wanting some wonderful catfish and grits and I didn’t have time to prepare any at home. The portions were generous in my order that contained two pieces of catfish, cheesy grits and macaroni and cheese.

The up side… the catfish was delicious, well prepared, crispy and seasoned very well. The cheesy grits were also tasty with good texture and flavors.

The down side… my mac and cheese was very dry, hard and had a taste of lemon and other odd flavors throughout. It didn’t taste like mac and cheese and I didn’t eat it after the first couple of bites. I was disappointed on this part because I absolutely love a good home cooked mac and cheese and I paid for a side that wasn’t edible.

Finally… the lemon wedges on top of the food, while a pretty garnish… it tends to be a strong flavor on the palate and doesn’t taste well on everything. I would recommend it on the side.

Overall I would definitely recommend and order again from Soul Filled in the future. The catfish definitely did not...

I was so excited(!) to try the new Soul Filled restaurant in downtown Muskegon. . .

I was until I actually did.

My wife was at the new Lumberman's Vault in downtown Muskegon today, and so I asked her to bring me the "Chicken and Waffles with Strawberries" to go (since I was home working) from Soul Filled.

See the pic of what we actually got. I think this cost like $15 or maybe more. I can't find their menu online anywhere.

NOTE: my wife ate one of the wings, so it actually came with three (3) wings, not just the two in the pic.

Waffle dough WASN'T EVEN COOKED. It was raw dough on the inside and completely inedible.

Paid extra for the "strawberries" = less than one (1) full strawberry. Seriously: less-than-one-whole-strawberry.

So, I ate what little meat was on the wings and had to throw the rest of it in the trash. 95% total waste of money.
