Fuego Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Muskogee

Would have been 5 stars, but I ordered the Chili Colorado and my son the Diablo Shrimp. They brought our food out, and we started eating. Then our waiter came back and told my son he got the wrong food and simply picked up his plate and walked away without any explanation or when my sons order would be done.

Now, having said the above, we understand mix ups occur, so let's move forward with the rest of our review.

My chili Colorado was very good, not overly spicy, and very flavorful. The rice was cooked excellent and the refried beans were also. Both my son and I had flour tortillas with our meal, and the were fresh and warm.

The first shrimp dish that my son had (we never got the name of it, lol) he said was very good. The Diablo shrimp dish he said was also good, a fair amount of spice (he said it could have been hotter, but this is the crazy kid who loves eating habenarjo peppers raw and likes a dish at home made with ghost peppers) so I think it would have been rated as hotly spiced by most folks.

The atmosphere is good, waitstaff friendly and warm. Prices are very fair....

My family and I have been once a week or more patrons of Chavas for 6 years. We loved it once upon a time, and the food quality and service were unparalleled anywhere in Muskogee. Then, they got rid of their best cooks and best waiters and now the food isn’t as good and the service is horrid. My grandparents wanted to stop by last week and our server was Horrid. We ordered queso as an appetizer and it got to our table after the food...finally had to ask the very nice Hispanic waitress if they could find our waitress for us. Once our waitress gets their we have to ask for more salsa, waters, straws and some silverware to eat our now getting cold meal. She said one second, came back and smacked like 10 straws and a pile of silverware on the table and stomped off... needless to say we won’t be coming back. After all these years of supporting your business, we expected to be treated just a little bit better. We will be giving our business to La Antigua from now on and recommend you do the same if you’re reading this. Better food, better salsa, better prices, and far...

Ordered a Taco salad my favorite.. I've been ordering this since 2020 and for some reason they don't give rice anymore and they want to hold the chips and salsa that come with the meal. I ordered two Taco salads they only gave us one bag of chips and salsa . If one order gets a bag of chips and salsa as apart of that meal if I ordered two give me two bags of chips and two salsas . She gave me the second chips after I explained each meal comes with and I ordered two one for me and one for my daughter. We went back that night and they said no we don't give chips and salsa we just ordered in the morning ...but they have the bags. Ok inflation is not pretty but to offer chips and salsa with each meal on the menu and then tell the customer no you can't have it is crazy especially when it's paid for .. kinda makes me not wanna eat there and I like the place. So if you go and order out get your chips and salsa they bag it up in white bags for that reason because it's part of the meal ..also please drain the oil off the ground beef before you put it on my taco...
