Boomarang Diner Mustang — Restaurant in Mustang

This review is entitled "Insects and Aesthetics". This place was disgusting. The flies were on the constant strafing runs on our legs and table. The worst part was the multiple fat-looking gnats that were a constant pester in the face. One fly just keep flying between me and the wall and would not shoo away. Thought about leaving right after ordering but my wife didn't want me to be rude. There was something black and smeared on the wall next to our table. The blinds in the windows don't look like they've been cleaned in years. Everything 6 inches above the floor and below was absolute disgusting dirty. Looks the the place is mopped without sweeping on a nightly basis. The wads of napkins underneath the table legs to "level" the tables were frayed as if they have been there for months and experienced several sopping mops running up against them (picture wet toilet paper). The mashed potatoes were cold. Had to wolf down the food to avoid the insects landing all over it while constantly shooing away our invaders. If there are nasty insects in the front, then there are damn sure nasty insects in the back. I'm certain the employees aren't as motivated to shoo flies off food while preparing it. The floors looked like hell. There was no saving grace to this place. The food was mediocre at best and I left with a gross feeling in my stomach from the debacle I witnessed. I will never return. I should've known by the empty parking lot...

My parents and I have been going to the Boomarang Diner a few times a month for breakfast for at least 5 years. The usual servers like Shawna always remember us and are extremely friendly, which is why we continue going there and will be going back. Today we had an awkward experience with our server. It was a Sunday and we know that's the busiest day and expect to wait in line. After we were seated, there were 2 couples in line and 2 tables waiting to be cleaned. Are server came to take our order. My elderly, stroke patient father who stutters said "Do you mind clearing these tables first for these kind folks in line." the server gave him a blank look and said "What?", he then repeated himself and she stormed off. Mind you, he had good intentions and just wanted others helped before us. A few minutes later another server came to our table, shaken saying that my father cannot cuss at a miner. We were confused and explained the situation. The server then explained that our server was 17, a minor and a team leader that would never lie and didn't deserve to be cussed at, she didn't believe us. At this point people were staring at us. We did get a new server that was very nice and the food was great. I just thought the management should be aware of their team...

Ordered online because I’m getting over COVID. It said “if you want us to bring out to you, call us.” And there was a curbside button.

I arrived 5 minutes early and called per the instructions. The girl I spoke with was rude and didn’t understand if I wanted to make an online order (over the phone?) or pick up one. I gave her my name and she said they would bring it out.

10 minutes later, nothing. So I called back. Someone else (thank goodness) picked up. I repeated the above. Hope let me know they don’t do that anymore for safety reasons. I understand that but had the website not said it would, I wouldn’t have ordered there. I asked Hope if she would make an exception since I was sick. Her manager approved her to leave it on the curb for me and I could get it the rest of the way.

The food that had now sat there for a bit, was mildly warm, and not great. The two stars are for Hope who went out of her way to find a solution. The misinformation, the first rude worker who let the order sit, the experience, and the food that wasn’t that great is the reason for the low score.
