We normally go to the Cookout in NMB and have never had the kind of experience there that we did tonight at Carolina Forest location. To be fair it is Halloween and they were pretty busy like all the fast food spots in that area. But... Firstly, the girl who took our order acted dumb and like she didn't give a crap and didn't want to be there. We had to repeat things multiple times as if she wasn't paying attention. She was short tempered and slightly rude. "Snappy" The order was still wrong despite repeating things and we were somehow overcharged. So we ordered: 2x Quesadilia tray with 2 sides = $5.99 (Should have been $7.99 but she only rang up a 1x Quesa tray and I didn't get the 2nd one) Burger Tray with 2 sides = $7.99 Side of Slaw = ??? Total (before tax) = $17.97 $5.99 + $7.99 = $13.98 So was my Side of Slaw* $3.99????? No way. I didn't actually see it on the menu but most expensive side I saw was like $3.49 and that was "premiuim" sides. I'm 99% sure it shouldn't have been more than $1.99. So where did the other $2 come from? Look I know it's only $2, but that adds up. Also, if you look at the bottom of our ticket there is a Water which we didn't order. How much was that water? Is that some way the cashiers are over charging people and pocketing money? Idk. But I know the Slaw wasn't $4 and that we didn't order a water. Two issues. First, they didn't give us an actual receipt. Just the ticket on the bag that shows what was ordered and the total. No prices for individual items. So I have no way to know where the extra charge actually occurred. Also, I am appalled at the "Side of Slaw" I received. The container was literally the same size that other places give you for dips and sauces. [ex. the cheese cups you get at Taco Bell with chips and fries] Literally the same size!! And on top of that it was only half filled. So I got 2 bites of slaw. 2 bites. I am not exaggerating, wish I was. Absolutely ridiculous. First time we have tried this location and it will be the last. There is no excuse! NONE! The other fast food places in the exact same area have great service in my experience. Polite people, good food, minimum mistakes. All of them. Taco Bell, McDonald's, BoJangles, Subway. Not sure who's responsible for the terrible hiring, training, accountability or whatever in that Cookout, but they need to do and be better. Rude, order incorrect, hidden overcharging, poor quantity/quality, just overall awful experience. If you are a glutton for crappy service, crappy food, missing food and missing money, give it a go. Me, I'll be happy to give their competition my patronage.

I used to live down the street from where this Cook Out was built, but I had not been here before. I came here with my sister and we dined inside. The inside is very nice and clean. We placed our order at the counter and the people who were working were super nice. I ordered a big double burger tray with white cheddar cheese bites and cajun fries. I ordered my burger with lettuce, mayo, cheese, and ketchup. I got a sweet tea as my drink. When we went, it looked like there was a fountain for customers to get drinks at, but it was blocked off. After placing our order, we sat for a few minutes and then our order number was called out for us to pick up. The food was delicious and the service was great.

You definitely can't find a better cookout than this one the food is beyond amazing and the customer service is out of this world I love how they have a big dine area the one thing I noticed which wasn't a very big deal was the person taking the orders bought everyone's food out to them and we had to walk up to get our food but that wasn't a big deal like I said this cookout is alot better than the one at whiteville for sure this cookout will actually give you food

I don’t usually complain about service and I’ve never had a problem with this place until tonight other than service. Of all the cookouts I’ve been to this one has the worst service.

I worked at the Surfside location briefly when I first moved down here and everyone was super nice. If a customers order was wrong They would remake it no questions. The employees that worked there were always friendly and made you feel welcome but at this Carolina forest location they rarely seem friendly and they all look like they just don’t wanna be there at all times. It’s understandable not wanting to be there late night but that is your job.

I ordered food here through the drive thru and they made it wrong. I ordered two huge burgers with cheese, one with ketchup and mustard and one just with cheese, and an order of fries. The one burger had just cheese like I asked, but the other had no cheese, ketchup or mustard. It was just a plain burger and the fries were cold. No problem, I understand it happens. I ended up having to wait through the drive-through again. At this point, my burger was cold and I just assumed like every other CookOut, that they would just remake my order and tell me to keep the other cheeseburger, however, this did not happen. When I told them the order was wrong that they acted like I was lying to them, and when I got back up to the drive-through window, the girl came up and told me that they had to charge me 50 cents for the cheese because they didn’t charge me the first time,so I had to pay 50 cents on my debit card for their mistake. She charged me and then walked away. A minute or two later a guy opened the window and asked, “where’s your burger?” He came off pretty rude and again they made it seem like I was lying about the mistake they made. I was kind of in shock, but I handed it to him and instead of remaking it he just took the cold burger back, put two cold pieces of cheese on it, as well as the ketchup and mustard, then handed it back to me in the same torn up tin foil with the cold non melted cheese showing and half the burger hanging out since he didn’t rewrap it another piece of foil. Never did I get an apology, or I’m sorry we’ll take care of that for you, just told we need to charge you more and give us back the food but we’re not going to make it fresh for you. I’m assuming this guy was the manager and if that’s the case, whoever hired him needs to retrain him because that certainly isn’t management material.

In all my years working at restaurants, I have never seen someone charge a customer for an employee’s mistake and I certainly would not charge 50 cents on a credit or debit card nor would I ask for the customer‘s food back just to add the missing items then give it back to them cold.

This is hands down the worst service at any Cookout in the...

Let me start off by saying I love the cook out used to eat there twice a week at work. I usually go to the one in North Myrtle Beach. I was so late getting home from work and going to vote I had decided to try the new cookout in Carolina forest on fresh drive. Let’s start with the rude person taking your order. I ignored it it was busy. I proceeded to place my order a burger with bacon LTO and extra pickles. I stressed to please make sure there was extra pickles on the burger. I proceed to the window to get my order. It was dark out I didn’t have my interior lights on I took the drink from the middle of the cup so I would not spill it, put it in my cup holder. She handed me my burger and sides. I had placed it on the seat next to me.( I had asked for a bag just in case the woman ignored me smiled and closed the window on me) I live less then 3 mins from cook out. I pulled into my place and went around to the passenger side door to grab my meal! I went to pick up the container that was not closed correctly, it was broken where the tabs were so as I picked it up and turned the container broke apart and 85% of my meal was now on the ground. So I picked up my drink and you guessed it , they never put the lid on it properly and now my car seat is soaked in coke. My burger was saved as it was still wrapped in foil! I thought oh thank god I still have dinner and won’t have to go back out. It was so gross. My burger was so over cooked it was hard to swallow, the bacon was like chewing on a gummy, the extra pickles there was one. And the tomato was the top of the tomato with the stem part still attached. I asked for bbq sauce on my burger and there was so much the bun felt like it was soaked in fluid it was that soggy. As I stated at the start of this rant…. I love cook out but I will never ever go to...
