I have been to Dragon Pan many times, since it is close to where my parents live. We have tried many different takeout Chinese food places around the area, and this has been my favorite one so far. The sauces are rich in flavor, and their dumplings are amazing. The Chicken and Broccoli is my go-to. The chicken and broccoli are generously coated in sauce. The boneless spare ribs were also really good. Not pictured, but I have had their lo mein, wonton soup, and egg rolls, which are all really delicious as well. I will say that I'm not the only one who really appreciates the food here. They get really busy around dinner time, and it might be hard to call in an order because the lines are so busy around that time. The wait time is also pretty long, but I think that it is worth the wait. Edit: I have added pictures of their take out menu.

For most Chinese takeout places, I am usually easily satisfied and feel like most of them taste the same. However, I truly think Dragon Pan stands out. When we lived in Myrtle Beach it was our go-to place for Chinese food. Fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced with large portions, we really miss it. When we were back in Myrtle Beach visiting my wife’s family in Dec. 2021 you better believe we made sure to return. My family, my in-laws, and the families of my wife’s two sisters all stayed in a condo together over the course of four nights. A family was assigned to provide dinner each night. On our night we got Dragon Pan and it was a big hit. It is hard for me to articulately describe why Dragon Pan’s food is so good so please just trust me and give it a try.

When I ordered over the phone I felt like I was being rushed off the phone so the person can answer the other calls. I ordered 3 large House Fried Rice minus the pork and was informed that beef was an up charge, so I agreed. All 3 fried rices was basically bland brown rice with veggies and 2 salad shrimp reminiscent of pieces of beef and chicken. It was the worst rice I have ever had. I don’t know what had happened with this restaurant, but I am never going to spend that kind of money again on some brown rice. In the photo I literally scooped up the meat I found within the large container I dumped into a Tupperware bowl just to make sure the meat wasn’t at the bottom. But yeah I am never going back.

When I first moved here I heard how great this place was. I tried it and it was decent. Nothing to brag about but the food was decent, the portions were big, and the price was good.

Hadn’t ate here in quite awhile. Ordered a few months back and noticed the portions were significantly smaller, price was the same, but the food was awful.

I ordered sesame chicken. The breading on the chicken as well as the broccoli was so soggy that it tasted like it had been sitting in a bowl of water all day long. The sauce tasted sour like it had been sitting out all day long and went bad. It was such a disappointment from when I used to order.

About a month later I ordered again. I tried calling but as always it takes multiple calls to get through. When I finally got through, I placed my order and told the girl over the phone that the last time I ordered everything was soggy and sour and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I just wanted to make sure that this time it was fresh. The girl kind of gave me an attitude and told me everything was made to order. I could tell by her voice that it wasn’t one of the Asian people that works there because she didn’t have an accent.

About 20 minutes later, I went and picked up my order and when I got home to eat it, it was just like the last time, soggy chicken and broccoli with an extremely sour and awful taste.

Been looking for a good...

I visited Dragon Pan this evening…..I ordered my food and paid via my debit card…..25 minute wait so I went to Lowe’s for a few things. I went back it wasn’t ready so I waited inside. When it was ready I took my food and went outside to eat it. I went back inside to get a napkin and the women says something about did I pay….I said yes when I ordered a half hour ago….I wasn’t given a receipt. I went back out to my waiting food and she proceeded to come out and ask me to check my bank account to see if it went through. I did as my food is sitting there….they did charge me but it was like 9.86 or something then she proceeds to say that is the wrong amount???? Ok, you charged me a different amount than what I should have been, about a $2 difference and somehow still proceeded to act as if I didn’t pay. I gave her $20 cash and left and explained that I wouldn’t be back. I am a local resident not a tourist. I came to enjoy a quiet meal after running around all day with my teenagers, I’m not sure how it turned into all of this but it has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth!!! And I certainly didn’t get to enjoy my food!!! I couldn’t even eat afterwards....

Update on Dragon Pan

As a native of the Myrtle Beach area this place USE to be the best Chinese food on the Grand Strand. A week ago I had my husband pick up dinner from here. I advised him to call early because since the pandemic they have been very busy. So he did and was told it would not be ready for about 45 minute. Not a problem.

The establishment is still closed to the public. Pick-up is available through their make-shift front door plexiglass slot. He observed several orders sitting on a long table in the lobby (which was a bit concerning). There really is no space available to check to see if your order is correct.

Our food was a complete letdown. A total shock to us. The quality of food we received was nothing of what we expected from our favorite Chinese restaurant. Pork fried rice was completely dried out as if it was made hours ago. Chicken wings were flavorless and overcooked. Honestly, our whole order was a waste of money.

I don't know what happen to Dragon Pan, but I hope they are reading these reviews and start to make some major...
