Not loud music at all which I love. Also there are clear acrylic windows between bar area and dining tables which provide even better noise cancelling. Comfortable warm lights. As for food, appetizers were great. Fresh and yummy salad topped with crushed boiled eggs. Potato skins a bit burnt but still good. What I wasn't impressed was main dish. Steak was cold. Fried onions on the burger, I took all of them off because it was too oily. The lettuce on the burger looked dead as if lettuce is made out of wax. It might have taken awhile until dish was delivered to customer's table after plating. Probably kitchen wanted to deliver all the dishes together same time. On the contrary lettuce on the salad was fresh. Before I see the main dishes, I thought I finally found another awesome restaurant where I can come along with my friends, but, no. Server Sera is wonderful. She attended our table probably ten times kept asking if there is anything we'd need or she can help with. Thank you, Sera!

Just got done eating at this place. Absolutely disappointed. I specifically asked the waitress if the prime rib came rare or bloody. She said I could get it well done if I like. I waited longer than everyone else at my table which is expected and fine. My prime rib came to the table and was medium rare and bloody. I specifically asked if that’s the way it came so I could avoid this situation. I told my waitress and all she said was oh sorry. I thought she’d offer to take it off my bill since I didn’t even eat one piece. I told her I’d take it home and have to cook it myself but she could’ve cared less. I was charged full price and at no point did she offer to replace my order or take it off the bill. If they couldn’t make it well done you could’ve just told me and I would’ve ordered something else. I knew I shouldn’t have gotten it in the first place. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here again. $40 spent on something I’ll be feeding my dog. Thanks JPeters

Stopped in again February 2024 great service and food regretfully the atmosphere has not changed. I am giving JP 5 ⭐ but a few things almost made it 4 ⭐. The restaurant is well located with plenty of parking and easy entry. Walking in the location is dark with black seats and dark wood panels no art not what I would call inviting. Seated right away Vincent was our server and did a great job all during our stay. Drinks were ordered as well as dinners. Bill ordered the She Crab soup which was 5 ⭐. House Salad is outstanding 5 ⭐ I ordered the Ceaser it was ok but lacking in any zing so 3 ⭐. Grilled shrimp 🦐 with baked potato was excellent 5 ⭐, Bill's Flounder sandwich and fries 🍟 was super 5 ⭐. Another guest ordered the Ribs, they were ok but could be better 4 ⭐. We will return but will be a little more selective with our choices.

J Peters offers American fare. If you're looking for innovative dishes utilizing unique ingredients, I would suggest moving on. HOWEVER if you're looking for well-prepareed food using quality ingredients , excellent service in a pleasant upscale environment, this would be an outstanding choice.

My wife and I haven't been to J Peters in Carolina Forest for several years. I'm not sure why, My recollection was that it was a pretty good place. We were hungry and arrived when the "Early Bird's specials were still available (before 6 pm).

When we walked in, we only had a short wait before sahostess scurried to guide us to a table. Our waiter, John B, came over to our table shortly thereafter and took our drink order. It turns out that John made the entire evening pleasant by magically being available without giving the feeling hod being rushed.

As to the food, I had the 9 ounce (early bird) cut of prime rib. The meat was perfectly cooked and was tender and flavorful. It was marbled beautifully,

The baked potato was also perfect. The she-crab soup I had to start was also a winner. My wife reports that her hamburger was also top-notch.

Parking is abundant. J Peters shares a large parking lot with a large Lowes grocery store. It can be a little tricky getting out of the parallel parking that run along the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, so I would park an aisle or so away.

So, if you want a restaurant with excellent food, excellent service, good parking in a location away from the throngs during tourist season, I would make this one of my regular...

Tonight we had decided to look around and try a new place for dinner. J peters is local to us and we wanted to give it a try seeing that we had just moved down here almost 2 months ago and have not tried to yet. It took about 15 minutes for us to get waited on to get our drinks. Which not a problem, had the food been worth it. We decided to try the barbecue nachos for appetizer. To our surprise, it was just canned cheese and some barbecue drizzled on top with unseasoned chicken. Out had come my girlfriends potato soup. Very watery. Unseasoned and bland. Whatever. Just apps no biggie. (Though we did not complete either) My girlfriend wanted chicken Alfredo with a side of fries. They could not sub in the fries for a super salad instead of just charging me more like I had insisted. Whatever. No big deal. She then switched over to the 6 ounce sirloin which came out extremely raw and bland. I on the other hand ordered their signature burger. My buns were drenched in grease. The burger was SURPRISE unseasoned. And I had ordered bacon cheese fries. They couldn’t put it in as a side on the system so they gave me melted cheese in a cup , as in literal slightly warmed up shredded cheese in the microwave kind of cup , that was given to me cold . And I was to build my own DIY cheese fries lol. The hostess and our waitress gave us no hassle as well as no bill. Hence why I am giving a 4 star on service. Extremely apologetic. And wanting us to comeback sometime in the future. I will definitely update this if they...

So I went to this restaurant to give it a try saw it had good reviews so I decided to give this place a try with my fiancé, so we went in and there was already confusion no host and we had to physically ask if we needed to sit ourselves or if someone would seat us and they sat us but when we sat we got our drinks and our drinks was straight up flat on both drinks it didn’t take but 3 tries til our 3rd try on drinks when it wasn’t flat and even then it felt off we got our appetizers and that was great then came the soup and salad and it was terrible the lettuce in the salad looked and tasted old and the the baked potato soup tasted like cardboard never in all my years eating a restaurants and even working in a bunch have I seen food this bad we kindly asked to get it taken off our bill because at the time we were trying to be understanding so after all that we got our actual meal which by the way my fiancé got ribs and me prime rib my fiancés meal was perfect versus my prime rib which was supposed to be rare came out medium well I asked for it to be cooked again it didn’t take but a second for it to come back like it was already made before I even asked but even the second time it came out just the same way the first one came out til finally I just had it taken off not to mention the server we had never once asked for refills so please listen to my advice and not go here unless your wanting chicken tenders and mashed potatoes which seems to be the only thing they can...
