This place has different services to offer so I'm careful to note my stars reflect my restaurant experience and not the bakery or coffee.
Let's start off with the menu; not a lot of selection. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but there's only a couple things on the menu that might be appetizing to someone who doesn't usually go for sweet foods. It would be nice to see a little more savory and spicy food selection. It's also worth noting that the beer menu is only a small, easily missed posted chalk board that only lists bottled beer. To find out what's on tap, you must physically walk over to another counter to the taps themselves to see what they have plugged in.
Service wasn't terrible but it wasn't great, either. I was given conflicting instructions about where to pick up my beverages and food orders. Which lead to walking to opposite ends of the building through the crowd making it quite awkward to socially distance.
Finally, my food selection was disappointing. I settled on 4 tacos and was surprised to find out two of them were like 80% carrots, 10% tofu and cabbage, and 10% actual meat and tortilla. After picking off about 4/5 of the carrots and tofu, it was actually quite tasty even if a little too sweet. I imagine the overpowering carrots would have made it almost sickeningly sweet had I eaten the dish as presented. The other two tacos were several slices of over cooked (dry) ahi (yet cold, somehow,) in a tortilla. It tasted fine but was markedly improved with a squirt of lime and a splash of humble Tapatio.
Despite my less-than-stellar experience and the glaring faux pas of over cooking ahi I could tell the food is well made even if the choice of flavors aren't my cup of tea. I would be willing to go back to give their baked goods a try and quite possibly get a simple sandwich. They can't mess...
Read moreExtremely rude to me. I had walked over from the being in the hospital to buy a coffee and wait for my ride to pick me up. I only had some change on me so I got a small caramel iced coffee with coffee cubes, and when I went to pay with change they looked at me so disgusted. Also the coffee was completely incorrect, it had no caramel, no cream like I had asked, it was just a black iced coffee with coffee cubes?! I got up to use the restroom and left my things sitting at my seat and still had a bit of coffee left, I come back and my stuff was set on the floor and my coffee gone with the chairs pushed in and table cleaned. It was like they were trying to force me out of their store. When I asked what happened to my coffee the barista simply responded "you were definitely done with it." in the most ignorant tone. I was so upset I left crying, I had already had a terrible day and they basically continued to treat me inferior. This was my first and...
Read moreWe used Ramone's Bakery & Cafe at our elopement style wedding for delivery of catered breakfast and for our wedding cake. The food was delicious and the cake was truly astounding.
There were a couple hiccups along the way that's preventing a higher score sadly. First, getting a finalized quote took a lot of back and forth emails and it felt like I was having to hound them at times. Second, they delivered only one of the two carafes of coffee I had ordered and it was broken. The delivery lady had to poor the coffee into whatever tea pots, pitchers, and large cups we could find in the AirBnB kitchen and of course it didn't stay hot for long. The delivery lady told me to reach out to the store and so thankfully, when I did they brought the second (unbroken) carafe of coffee soon after. Overall, a bit more hectic of a process than it should have been but the cake really was the...
