Ambiance: this little cafe in nac brings you from the streets of a little small town in America and right in to a little street in Italy. where a livelily and friendly atmosphere greets you at the door beckoning for you to come and in and put life on pause for a moment. Accompanied with warm lighting thats casts an inviting glow.
Food: I had the affogato, sfogliatella riccia, hazelnut cream cannoli and a vanilla Cannoli. These where positively divine. the affogato I got was served with pistachio gelato. now if an affogato is something you haven’t had before I recommend it. the espresso paired with the smoothness of and light sweetness of the gelato pairs very well. It creates this dance of flavor’s hitting nodes of creamy delight and a delicate flavor. The sfogliatella was not only beautiful on the plate but also in flavor. It’s golden brown color caressed with a little powdered sugar on top that made each layer of the pretty pastry stand out. Now for the actual taste the pastry. The sfogliatella’s layers flaked apart with ease and tasted buttery and flavorful. The riccia filling is pleasantly sweet it isn’t overpowering and goes well with its outer buttery shell that is cushioned with a fluffy and filled center. For my favorites the cannolis they are quite pretty just to look at i almost didn’t want to eat them they were so pretty. Let’s begin with the filling. the hazelnut filling was delightfully sweet, and had a wonderfully crispy shell on the outside that had the perfect crunch to it. This goes hand in hand with the vanilla that had chocolate chips in the cream that made a wonderful pairing together. I would recommend all three of these items as a must get. And a reason to stop by Aperitivo
Staff: The staff was as sweet as the pastry’s. they serve greetings costumers with a smile that could light up a room. I was severed by Cassidy, who made wonderful conversation and checked on me to be sure I was enjoying their food. Not only that but the owner Ryan was going around checking on costumers and asking about how they were this morning while also thanking them for coming in. The staff that work at Aperitvio are very welcoming, helpful, and willing to get to know their costumers. Which I think is something we don’t see a lot these days and it’s very refreshing. Overall I would like to rate aperitivo 5/5 stars I have nothing bad to say about this place. it is a nice place to come and take the morning slow take in the day. just let life pause for a moment so you can take in the...
Read moreMy partner and I came to try Aperitivo on grand opening morning and had an absolutely amazing experience that swept us off our feet! It was of course extremely busy being grand opening day, but service and food quality were amazing. The owner stopped by different tables and checked on guests virtually the whole time we were there.
Notes: Beautiful, tastefully decorated dining room with vintage-inspired wallpaper, artistic lighting, and reclaimed vintage floor tile. Plenty of variety with their coffee, pastries, lunch, and cocktails. Lunch starts at 11am, and a server will come to your table for you to order lunch/cocktails. Food quality was AMAZING. The pastries were fresh and light. The apricot croissant was flaky and perfectly sweet. We ordered the large serving of bruschettas so we could try 4 different kinds. All of them were perfectly crisp, fresh, and balanced without being hard to bite into. The cocktails we selected, the Perfect Peach and Flower Hill Collins were also high quality and not overly sweet at all. They were light and drinkable without feeling too strong. I feel everything was reasonably priced: for a higher-end place, it felt like we were getting great value and quality with our purchases. As a vegetarian, I felt like I had a decent selection without feeling too limited. That is hard to come by around here: another winery nearby changed their menu and left me with only one option to choose from. Very clean dining room despite the heavy traffic: a staff member was routinely going around and bussing tables. The restroom was also stylish and clean.
Overall, I highly recommend Aperitivo! Nacogdoches is lucky to have them. We will be back...

This new addition to downtown Nacogdoches is an absolute delight! The last two times I passed through, I didn’t get a chance to stop in — but this morning, the doors were open at 7 AM, and I couldn’t resist. I ordered a simple coffee and croissant, and it turned out to be the perfect way to start my Sunday.
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place was built with love and intention. The décor, lighting, and atmosphere feel straight out of a European café — modern yet warm, with every detail clearly an investment by owners who care about creating an experience, not just a stop for caffeine. The staff were professional and welcoming, the kind of people who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
As I enjoyed my coffee, I even ran into a few old friends — including local legend and community advocate Brad Maule, a two-time Daytime Emmy nominee who traded the Hollywood spotlight for the quiet peace of Nacogdoches years ago. It reminded me how this town continues to blend culture, creativity, and community in such genuine ways.
I can’t wait to return to try their sandwiches, gelato, and (from what I hear) world-class cocktails. Aperitivo is precisely the kind of place that makes historic downtown Nacogdoches so special — where old charm meets new energy.
If you’re exploring downtown, do yourself a favor and stop in. You’ll thank me later.
