Getaway Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Nampa

This review is strictly on their Wednesday night $5 Beer+ Burger Basket. A beer and burger w/fries for $5 is such a great deal I had to try it out. The Getaway is a sports bar and grill and that’s exactly what you get when you walk in. Plenty of TVs with sports playing, pool tables, dart boards, and friendly regulars (atmosphere 4⭐️). Our service was excellent, they had 3 servers working the floor and at least 3 bartenders. They were super friendly, very attentive, and had all of our needs met throughout our meal (service 5⭐️). The price is of course going to be 5⭐️, it’s such a great deal, but besides that I ordered an additional drink before the meal and it too was well priced (and our server was very knowledgeable of what beers they had on tap at the time, which was refreshing) They also offer a list of signature drinks to try, and I surely will the next time I visit. Now the food… I went in not expecting much for $5, these days you don’t get much for $5, so my expectations were low. I was very pleasantly surprised! The burger was big! Well seasoned, cooked perfectly. For $5 it’s a plain hamburger (w/toppings), but you can add cheese, bacon, avocado, mushrooms for an additional charge (I added cheese to mine). It was delicious, seasoned, good char, Juicy not over cooked. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. They also came with a solid fry sauce and I asked for ranch on the side as well. I went with my vegetarian moms and they had no issue preparing her burger with all the fixings plus mushrooms and avocado with the burger on the side. Came here a few weeks ago on a Wednesday for their $5 burger, beer and fries deal. Though it was completely packed, we were able to find the very last table. It took about an hour to get our food which we were made aware of and were ok with. Our waitresses were fantastic. It was a great experience. Last night, however, was the complete opposite. This is why they are getting a low star review. Once again, it’s Wednesday and completely packed. We are told again, it will be 45-60 minutes for our order which we understood. It’s around 5:10 when we ordered our food. We are then informed our table is being given to another waitress. I get that being packed makes things chaotic for the servers, but for the new server to completely ignore us the rest of the night was ridiculous. Over an hour after we placed our order, she had not once asked if we wanted more to drink though she would look at us but then walk away, saying nothing. WE had to ask her for some waters just to have something going in our systems while we wait for food. After an hour and a half and multiple times of asking when our food was coming out, irritated that we are seeing others that had come in after us (we were a party of 3) getting their food while we have gotten nothing but ignored, we are told it’s coming now (still took about another 10 minutes). Then they proceed to charge us over $10 more than what it should have cost so we had to deal with getting that fixed. We showed up at 5, left at 7 and ate absolutely nothing the entire time. To top it off, we got attitude from a different waitress about the issues we had and I saw one of the “cooks” in flip flops which is a health code and safety violation. Highly doubt we will go...

**Updated Feb 26, 2020 - came here to have drinks with my brother because I told him it had been a good place to grab drinks and food in the past, but tonight was NOT one of those experiences. I'm not sure if they were understaffed, but we arrived shortly after 5 on a Wednesday night. It took several minutes before somebody came by to take our order and after our initial order it took several minutes again for me to get the waitress to take a food order. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger at 613 pm and after noticing several people getting their orders who had placed their order after me, I had to flag down my waitress at 647 on to ask where my food was. After 5 more minutes, she said mine was coming out, nearly 5 minutes before I needed to leave. There was no apology, I was just asked if I wanted to take my meal to go with me. So I am now getting home and getting to eat my burger that is now cold and soggy. Very poor customer service, no apology, no compensation. What's really sad is it was my brother's first time and he said he probably won't ever come back after the experience.
