Ordered cupcakes for my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. The day of the party I went in to pay for the cupcakes and to see them and upon opening the cupcakes did not match the theme of my daughters 2nd birthday” two wild” birthday party nor the cupcake toppers that I personally purchased and dropped off. When I asked where are my cupcake toppers I was told “oh you had toppers” she then went to call the other store and stated that they can deliver the cupcakes. It was 3:21 my daughter’s birthday party started at 3:45 I said will they be on time which I was told no probably not. The girl was dismissive and rude not even offering an apology. The cupcakes looked like wedding cupcakes not cupcakes for a 2 year old birthday party. I ended up leaving the cupcakes which was unfair to me and my daughter. To ruin the part of the birthday that kids look forward to is inexcusable. To make matters worse, the young girl called me during my daughter’s birthday party to ask when would I be able to pick up the cupcake toppers. Still today no call from management nor owner to apologize or anything. Went to order a gender reveal cake and cake pops! The lady that took our order was very sweet and really made us feel confident in having Area 51 handle our order! We scheduled the pickup for the night before our gender reveal party, also Christmas Eve! When I picked up the cake, it appeared that they mistakenly used the wrong reference picture! The cake looked great, just not what we wanted! Disheartened I called the store back after I got home to show my wife, and I asked for the manager, turns out the owner is who answered the phone, and let me tell you, she went above and beyond for us. She picked the cake up from my house, had it fixed and delivered back to me the next morning! 5 star customer service! Mistakes happen and nobody can predict or prevent when they occur, but how you handle the mistake, and the way you speak to your customer when a mistake, makes all the difference, and really shows the character of the owner! I would highly recommend anyone looking for specialized cakes or treats to use Area51! Their products taste amazing to...
