Was surprised to learn that the restaurant does not make any accommodations to allergies. Any fried foods are done so in the same cooking oil. Thus, anything prepped in a fryer cannot be consumed by someone with a specific allergies that are also cooked in the fryer. I was only told this information in person, not when I called to make a reservation and asked about allergy accommodations. I would not have gone here if I was told that information at an appropriate time. We overlooked this in the moment and opted to do the all you can eat option. On paper the price (68 per person) seemed fair. The restaurant places a 90 minute time restraint on tables who choose to do this, that’s also fair. However, when it takes over 30 minutes to receive our tables first order, and 20-30 minutes to receive every other order after that, one can realize that you only get a little food for a large amount of money due to the slow service of the restaurant. Not only this, our table had to ask other servers multiple times to get refills on drinks or to send our server over to our table because our server would be MIA for long durations of time. It seemed as if we were an after thought. We would question our server when our food was coming and would consistently remind our server of food that was ordered but never received. I discussed my displeasure with my server but was told that nothing could be done to account for the restaurants slow service because “the restaurant is busy”… yes I understand the restaurant is busy. However, waiting 30 minutes for 6 plates of raw meat for our table to cook, some rice, and a salad is unacceptable. I do not recommend coming her with a party larger than 3. I do not recommend coming here if anyone has allergies to seafood since no accommodations can be made. I don’t not recommend getting the all you can eat plans. I do not recommend this place at all. Other locations with similar foods and experiences that are better would be Wabi-Q BBQ in Bolingbrook or other Japanese bbqs in Chicago. Save your money and...
Read moreHorrible service. Came to celebrate my 4 year anniversary with my husband and we had a reservation at 5. We were sat around then and had multiple servers and I'm pretty sure even a manager as he was dressed in a different uniform than the servers and bussers, walk by us even making eye contact for 20 MINUTES and not once did someone introduce themselves or brought us waters. I had to pull aside a random server to get us some waters. He also took our order because we had 20 minutes to ourselves to figure out what we wanted. A little bit after our order was taken, we received a server named Jacob who informed us our server was going on break. We were genuinely confused because our server, who upon learning later from the receipt, was supposed to be a girl name Ugliene or something close to that, never came to introduce herself ONCE. We saw her walk by more than 10 times for 20 minutes before being told she was going on break. Im sorry, what?! You mean to tell me for the 20 minutes she ignored her table, she wasn't on break and is going on one now? She might as well shouldn't have been on the clock since that's how it seemed! I was a restaurant manager for years and if my staff allowed a table to 20 minutes to greet a table, just greet and get them waters, I would have sent them home. Because that is beyond unacceptable. Hell would freeze over before I ever allowed my staff to give such poor service. No manager came to Apologize, nothing. My husband has also left a review going more into detail about our experience. We will not be returning here, or at least at this location. Whoever oversees this location needs to train their staff better and have travel paths throughout the restaurant to check on guests. Unacceptable. Do better. Especially with the amount of money we are...
Read moreI would give a negative star if it was an option. We planned a family night out so I chose this place for dinner, big mistake. When we started ordering the course around 7:15 pm, there was a table-top flyer of Lady M green tea crepe, husband specifically asked the server if we should order this dessert in advance, just in case it could be sold out early. The server said no it would not be sold out like she was very sure that they have enough supply. So we waited until finishing the main course and ordering this dessert around 8:30 pm, guess what? We were told that someone else just ordered the last piece. The server obviously didn’t know what she was talking about. The restaurant does not seem to keep enough supply, it was not even late in the night and the place was barely half full when we were there.
That was not the worst of our experience. During the middle of our meal, I noticed the glass shield between my husband’s seat and another guest’s seat was loose and might drop off the frame. It was tilting so we told a passing-by staff due to safety concerns. The staff quickly tried to blame it on my four-year-old daughter as she was sitting with my husband. Before we could say anything, the staff started taking our plates away without asking first. When I mentioned that we didn’t even finish the meat on a plate, he was like oh you still want it? Wow.
We talked to the manager, she just said that she would talk to them, not even a sincere apology. Who are "them", like the manager is not part of the business? This place is falling apart. We used to like the Chicago location of Gyu-Kaku and were glad to find a branch closer. But this Naperville branch is pulling the whole reputation down. We would not recommend it to any...
