I love avocados and was really looking forward to this place opening in Naperville, but until they make some changes, this place is a dud. This place recently opened and magically they have 544 reviews at all 5-stars. Nice try but everyone knows what's going on. Strike one against this owner.
The staff was super friendly, very accommodating, and took the time to explain their menu. I ordered the Vegan Chorizo and Avocado Tacos. Somewhat on the pricey side at over $20, but have I mentioned how much I love avocados - I would have paid double.
I tried to grab a table, but many of them were dirty. Not that there were plates on them, but food crumbs and spilled liquids that were not cleaned up. Much of the bench seating had food debris on them, and I finally had to settle on a table that required me to sweep away food from my seat with the back of my hand just to sit down. The table was pretty bad. Disgusting actually. Very sticky. I moved over one table with the same problem. The tables were so unacceptable, I had to rest my silverware on my filthy phone. Staff came around after a while to clean tables, but it was with a dry rag, barely any effort, with one squirt from what looked like a water spray bottle.
Maybe they don't know how to wipe down a table??? It made me wonder whether or not the kitchen was as filthy or worse. Strike two against this owner.
I waited far too long for some tacos, and the service knew this because they eventually came with my food with plenty of apologies for the delay. I was sidelined by a table of what I thought might be relatives of the owner - not sure. But they were ordering a-la-cart and whatever they wanted, they received it right away, while I just sat there.
My tacos eventually arrived, and they were far too overloaded with the vegan chorizo, with one very small thin slice of avocado. Almost like the avocado was a mere garnish on the taco. Very disappointing from a restaurant called "Avocado Theory." And, that's strike three!
Now, the chorizo was dynamite. Very flavorful. So, I think this place has some hope, but those tacos would have been 10x better with less of the chorizo and more of the avocado. I think a 50-50 ratio would work well on these tacos given the high flavor content of the chorizo.
So, I will revisit this place soon and update this review, and I hope the owner sees this review and makes some changes. This place has all the components of a 5-star restaurant, but until they can up their cleanliness and add more avocado to their tacos, I have to low score this place. I really hope this place makes it. I love avocados that much. But I would like avocados to be a greater part of the meal, and I don't think anyone should eat at a...
Read moreThis spot is so SO good! My wife & I tried them for the first time recently, & since have visited a few times since! They actually stole our hearts with their vegan/GF brownies which we tried @ a food truck event this past spring, & we're so happy we came upon this spot! Love the concept & what they offer 💯💙
We've stopped in to grab to-go & also dined in, & had nice experiences all around. The staff is always welcoming, attentive, friendly & willing to help with any menu questions 👏🏽 My wife & I are both vegan & gluten-free, & while many places dont have offerings for our dietary restrictions & are often uninformed & unwilling to provide clarity when we ask questions, this spot is giving top-notch customer service & we are so very appreciative of that!
As for what is vegan/gluten-free, we've tried the Avocado Rice Bowl, Avocado Buddha Bowl (which they will let you sub tofu instead of falafels if youd like, but if you want to add tofu to any dish that doesnt already have it, you have to pay an extra $4), Vegan Chorizo Wrap & Cauliflower Wings - all of which were decent portions & yummy. Love LOVE love that they give you quality, fresh, tastey food that will fill. you. up! 🙌🏽 Bc let me tell you we can EAT & hate being left hungry. If we didn't live on a budget, we would be here all the time... my only gripe is that every dish is almost $20. I appreciate what theyre offering, but its pricey for sure. It fills our hearts as well that there are BOTH vegan/GF options that are marked on the menu. Thank you for being inclusive to all dietary restrictions & setting the bar on how to do it well!
👌🏽🌱Highly recommend to fellow GF vegans, a must try.
Also, love the avo sticker bin on the way out... we've started quite a...

The reason for the one star is not necessarily the food. Although, It was certainly not worth the money. 4 entrees for $110 at a casual restaurant implies high quality (or one should be able to reasonably assume). We got one salmon entree and a salmon salad and the salmon filets in each were the driest salmon we’ve ever had. The sauce and sides and soup were good, but that was not $26 salmon.
Additionally, the fried avocado tacos (got two orders) were supposed to come with tortilla chips and neither order did.
We called to inform the restaurant of the issues with the order. The staff were very pleasant but the owner (identified himself as “Kru”) got involved and was rude. He told us that the salmon was cooked perfectly because (I kid you not) he said he checked his camera of the restaurant from his house and said he could see that the salmon was cooked correctly.
This is just stupid.
Either he doesn’t know how salmon is supposed to be cooked or he doesn’t care about quality.
Again the restaurant staff were very friendly, but management is poor. Not that a refund is necessary, but to try to gaslight us about some terrible salmon is bizarre.
He didn’t even comment about the tortilla chips missing. Again $110 for what we got and the attitude of the management did not match up.
Any effort to rectify the situation on the part of management could have saved a one star review. I only make the effort to write something drawn out like this if the service truly warrants explanation.
I will never give my money to this place again. And everyone I know will be advised to go anywhere else...
