If a zero star rating was an option I would have given that. My family and I went to this restaurant for my little cousin’s birthday. I ordered an impossible burger with no tomato because I have an allergy to tomatoes. When my food came out there was tomato on the burger, so I sent it back.
When our server returned she gave me the serving platter with the food on it. When I looked at it, it was the same dish, same burger, same bun, and the tomato remnants still on the fries and burger.
At that point I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager came I explained what had happened and he didn’t seem very concerned. He asked did I want my food to which I said I don’t want any food from here because I don’t trust that it will be made correctly. The manager responded I understand that and I’m not going to make you pay for the food. I corrected him and stated I wasn’t going to pay for food regardless. I have a food allergy that I clearly identified and it was completely disregarded.
The meal was removed from the bill, but the remaining experience was just as lack luster. The server did not come back to our table for over 20 minutes, even though she had tables right next to ours. When we would call for her attention it was like we were not there. We saw the manager come back downstairs and called for his attention again. I explained it’s strange how we have a server yet she is not serving anything at this table. Drink glasses and water was empty and there was no regard to it. Once this was brought to the attention of the manager suddenly we received the items that we hadn’t received prior. I did not get the manager’s name but I believe the server’s name was Jenna.
I have been to other locations of this franchise and ldid not have this experience. Needless to say we will never return to this location. I carry an epi-pen for my allergies but the total disregard was...
Read moreI would have loved to give this establishment more stars, however the lack of attention and compassion from the staff left a lasting impression. Located in downtown Naperville, JoJo's is a very popular spot. I came to meet some family for some late lunch/early dinner and I brought my two toddlers. I came into the door with two toddlers, was barely greeted just stared at by the group of staff congregated around the bar area. I had to initiate conversation and ask how to get to the tree house and I was just told it was upstairs. There is an elevator in this location and I was not told about it. It was right around to the back where the bathrooms are, and the staff could not even direct me so I did not have to carry both of my children up the stairs. Only information I was given by the group of staff members was that the treetop was located upstairs. No one cared to direct me past the stairs or anything.
It was actually a little chilly on the rooftop which wasn't a problem, but when I left to go get sweaters for my kids, again I came in. I was greeted this time by an older gentleman, and I just straight up told him I was going to use the elevator to get up to the rooftop with my kids. It didn't seem like it was a problem that I was using the elevator. However, I was not welcome to it or instructed to use it even though it is clearly a public elevator. The food was great, the shakes were great, our server at our table was great. However, the first impression upon entering the restaurant's atmosphere was very awkward and not welcoming. It shouldn't matter, but it sucks having to pay 18% automatic gratuity after having an unwelcoming experience with no acknowledgement upon entering the building. Not...
Read moreI was excited about going to this restaurant. However, upon getting there my boyfriend and I were seated and a waiter came over and broughtus a bottle of water and two glasses. He did not introduce himself and began to ask if we were ready to order. I explained that this was our first time there and wanted to know what was good. He looked at me like I had two heads. I then proceeded to tell him that I heard that they had good bugers and he was like ok yeah sure. I told him that they only had two burgers, but neither one had what I wanted on it. He said, "You can tell us what you want and don't want, and we can fix it." I told him my order and when it came my burger was completely wrong and when I tried to explain the waiter didn't act as if he was concerned about it all. We poured up the water and there was something black floating in my boyfriend's water. I told the gut that brought our foid and he took the glass but didn't bring another one. Then to add insult to injury we hadn't even had our food 10 minutes when the waiter comes and asks us if we wanted to go boxes. I was appalled especially since there were people at the table behind us who had been there before we got there and were still sitting and they were not offered to go boxes. Also, they were not busy so I don't know why we were being rushed out. The service was absolutely horrible and to top it off an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill for only two people and our order wasn't correct and the waiter didn't offer any help to fix it. I really hate to think that we were unwelcomed because of the color of our skin but that's exactly the vibe that we got. We will never be visiting this...
