Sara's Pakistani & Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Naperville

Not sure if there was a change in management or change in priorities; but this is not the same establishment my family and I appreciated for years.

We reserved to host family iftar here and it was a very disappointing experience. Here are all the things the management can improve on.

When someone reserves seating for a private event , it doesn’t mean you should still accept walk in patrons and put them in the booth next to the private party. When highchairs are requested, it truly means highchairs. Not adult chairs for kids to sit and slide around in. Apparently, this restaurant only has one highchair to offer. Plates should be cleared off the table in a timely manner especially if it’s buffet style. During our meal our dirty plates sat on our table for the entirety of dinner. If you’re going to charge for kids to eat at the buffet, please try to have kid friendly options. Chips, candy, and trail mix do not constitute as kids food especially at the head charge that was being charged . Consider chicken nuggets or pasta in the future. Unfortunately biryani rice was half cooked and I was literally consuming hard rice. Same goes for the chickpea chaat. This was embarrassing for my guests as well as everyone was avoiding it or throwing away food. Goes against the spirit of Ramadan

I ordered butter chicken, medium spicy, for takeout. It was the worst butter chicken I've ever eaten - and I've had a LOT of Indian cuisine from around Illinois. The chicken was not tender and was dry, the curry sauce was literally flavorless (I was shocked at this - there was literally no flavor to it other than butter), and it did not even come with rice. In addition, the curry sauce was not thick at all. It was very runny. Think of red butter water and that's an accurate depiction of the curry sauce.

If you want an example of AMAZING Indian food and are up for a drive, try Bloom Bawarchi or Aroma Indian in Bloomington, IL. THAT is Indian cuisine done right and I promise either will be worth the drive. Both restaurants pack their dishes full of vibrant flavor and spice AND include rice with their entrees. I mean seriously - why does Sara's not include rice? I've never eaten at an Indian restaurant that does not include rice with butter chicken - but maybe it's just as well because if they can't even do butter chicken, how bad would the rice be?

Judging from other reviews (which I wish I had read prior to ordering), I'm marking Sara's up as insanely overpriced, overrated, and terrible food. Eat somewhere else - even McDonalds prior to closing at night where they give you the leftover food that's been sitting all day would be better. This is possibly the worst food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Hopefully it gets new management that actually tastes...

I wish I could have rate zero star. What a horrible experience I have it here. The owner have zero respect for customers. I call them before coming over to make sure we gonna get a nice dine in as it was close to 8:00 pm and after arriving there we place the order and they wanted us to pay upfront. Ok no problem, I put cash money in front of the the owner who was dealing me at cashier register and with out even checking how much was it he started saying no I need complete amount in cash and I was surprised I have not asked for any discounts and even with out checking how much I am paying him why in the world he is reacting so weird. Then he took the money and started saying all I can do is take out as he is going to close in 10 minutes and then started arguments about he cannot return my money as the order has been placed and even started saying that he will call police to kick us out. He further told us he do not need customers like us. My oh my what a mean person he is. Not only this when the guy bring our food out for take out all wrapped up in shopping bags , and on reaching our hotel rooms we were surprised to see 3 plates of rice for what he had charged us in invoice were missing and he never wanted to pick up his phone later may be he was gone already or? I have visted thousands of halal Resturents all over North America but never had come across this kind of disrespectful filthy and dishonest people doing business who have zero respect for...
