I never knew of this place until few days ago. We went to Naperville Plaza to check KidsStrong next door but ended up at the Express Toys due to rain. Funny huh. We usually shop at FiveBelow for intricate unusual gifts & books which are uncommon in regular retailers and very much affordable being $5 and below, hence the name of the store.
In comparison with intellectual developmental games activities and toys. Iâd say Express Toys is a nudge higher in rank vs FiveBelow. So are the prices. I took my time studying the inventory comparing with Amazon prices and they are just few $ apart cost-wise. While some items I havenât even seen on Amazon, like ever.
Iâd say most of the items this store carries are for intellectual IQ development where you wonât find in your regular shopping plaza. Which makes this place unique and one of a kind. They are pricy yet if you consider what benefit they will contribute to your childâs intellect, they are worth every penny in the long run. I was happy to see such verity of products available to view, touch, test located wall-to-wall up to the ceiling. Itâs a small place but packed with good stuff.
I spent $150 on multiple items which I took my sweet time to study. And there werenât toys. They were games, blocks, and other of that sort. We ended up staying longer than planned because the rain picked up and eventually purchased more items because they are available on display to test them out. My 5 y/o enjoyed magnetic dart throwing and he spent there 10 min while we waited out the rain to tone down. The magnetic version was very safe and comfortable to use. You could clearly see where the darts landed and my kindergartener was able to count out the numbers. So yay for him academics-wise.
I manually created a cardboard target at home which he used to shoot nerfs but the thing with those, they are so fast you canât catch which number it landed on unless you pause a video on it. So I didnât second guess on the magnetic version even for $34 of its cost.
Do I recommend this place? YES I do. Is it pricy, yes it is but you donât have to hoard the whole store at one go. They have coupons, offers and seasonal sales. They have FREE gift wrapping and custom name labeling. If you spent a certain sum $ youâll get certain discounts and promotions. As I mentioned I spent $150 on first buy and they gifted me a reusable bag which can be not just reused for groceries but if brought to the store again, it offers some deals on sales items of that week. Or something like that. I signed up for there promos and already received coupon offers towards next purchase. And since we will be attending next door KidsStrong program over the summer, we will definitely stop by that store again. So I advise you to check it out as well. Itâs like Amazon...
Read moreAbsolutely unacceptable. You should be ashamed of yourselves for what happened yesterday. My 10-year-old daughter walked out of your store with what she thought was going to be her dream purchaseâonly to end up in tears because you sold her garbage.
You knowingly sold a product that was clearly over a year old, had been opened before, and instead of pulling it off the shelf like any respectable business would, you warned her that it was âfinal saleâ and couldnât be returned. Thatâs not customer serviceâthatâs taking advantage of a child.
I have never seen her so excited to open something, only to watch her cry as she tried to revive 7 out of 9 slimes that were hard, crusty, and completely unusable. These werenât just oldâthey were obviously opened and sitting there forever.
Do you know what makes this worse? My daughter saved her own money for this. Sheâs probably blaming herself right now for âmaking a bad choice,â when the truth is you let her down.
I have Stage 4 cancer. For the past 18 months, every penny has mattered. When I saw her eyes light up because she could finally afford something from Dope Slimes, it brought me to tears. But you destroyed that moment. Not Dope Slimesâyou. Your company, your ownership, your management.
You didnât just sell a defective productâyou took advantage of a childâs trust. I really hope you make this right, because this isnât just bad business. Itâs...
Read moreI didn't know this place until we received a toy gift sold by Learning Express. My son didn't have interest in it so I decided to returned it. The old lady first said she couldn't find it in their system, then said she found it but could only give me store credit. She printed a tiny paper "store credit" and told me I have a year to use it. Not sure I can keep this paper piece for a year, I asked if she can give me a gift card instead of the flimsy paper receipt, "no" said she, "sorry it is the policy". "But this small piece of paper can easily get lost..." I said. "Sorry it is the store policy." "Can I use the store credit to buy a gift card?" "No, sorry it is the story policy". Thus I left with the tiny piece paper, pretty sure they have a great chance not being used and the money pocketed...
